instead of updating via the web, you should download one of the "clients"... It looks like AIM, but it allows you to type, archive, pull up and edit entries really easily. Also protects you from the dreaded "error message that just killed my ridiculously long entry" demon.

If you don't want to go that far, type longer entries in a program like word or wordperfect... they save every 5 minutes or so without you doing anything... so if you lose something, it'll only be a paragraph or so,instead of everything you have typed in the course of half an hour.
