Erik fails. Really hard.

So, in the process of attempting to fix Firefox (specifically, the non-workingness of Firefox that seemed to happen at random), he deleted my profile. The only copy of bookmarks I have is from 2004.

SO HARD.

Yeah, oops. I was trying to fix her screwed up Firefox profile, and accidentally shift-deleted the whole thing. I tried to use a filesystem restoration program that's worked well for me in the past to get it back, but no dice. Just an old backup.

Now is when I a) pimp del.icio.us, and b) point at erik and laugh for not backing up important files (you know...stuff like bookmarks) before working on an application.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

Birdy at him, not you. ;-)

Does this mean he owes you sushi dinners for life? Or maybe a new corset or two?

Another reason to make backups... they're not just for total hard drive failures, they're also for when you accidentally do something dumb, or when software accidentally does something dumb for you. The most recent time I used my backup was just a few weeks ago, when my Treo (Palm PDA-phone) sync messed up and lost all of my address book and I didn't notice at first, and resync'ed and saved it that way.

As one of my friends has said: If your files aren't in two places, they don't exist!
