Title: King of the Sandbox
Pairing: Yehwook in kid form (aren't I awesome? A KID!YEHWOOK!!)
Rating: PG-13 just to be safe. 8D
Notes: I totally need a Yehwook icon xD. Includes an amusing YM conversation between me and a friend at the very bottom. The ending's kind of..pleh, but Yehsung makes up for it. And I would submit this to my English teacher for my unstructured journal entry, but I don't think she'd appreciate gay Korean boys (a travesty, I'm sure).
Ryeowook was this shy four-year-old who liked to look at buttercups and butterflies (and pretty much enjoyed anything that had the word 'butter' in it). Jongoon (for that was what they called him back then) was six and enjoyed biting the heads off things that had a head and happened to fit inside his mouth.
It was a few days after he wrote 'Property of Kim Jongoon' on the side of the sandbox and decided that the other kids could play in it...but only if they gave him lots and lots of animal crackers (and picked out the monkeys because he thought that it was unfair that only the monkey got to wear clothes). That day was a slow day, so he satisfied himself by looking at a lone little boy, who was squatting on the grass and watching the ground with an expectant look on his face.
Jongoon was about to declare himself the King of the Sandbox (because he was six and allowed to be as random as possible) when he heard someone whining. He looked back to the little boy and saw that he had been joined by three bigger kids who wanted his animal crackers. He decided that he should do something about it.
"Why do you care, Jongooooooooon?" demanded one of the kids, drawing out the second syllable because he knew that it annoyed him.
"Because I'm King of the Sandbox," he replied, puffing his little chest out imperiously. "And the King says that only the King can get animal crackers. Now go away before I have you dec--decap...before I chop your head off.
Fortunately, Jongoon was big enough to make them back off. As the other kids ran away, he turned to look at the little boy, who upon closer inspection, looked no older than four or five. "What's your name?" he asked curiously.
The little boy looked at him, his brown eyes round and innocent. "Ryeowook," he replied softly (and hesitantly too, because he was probably scared that the King of the Sandbox might have his head chopped off).
Ryeowook didn't seem to need to blink as much as normal people. He scrutinized Jongoon and made him uncomfortable as those brown eyes stared unabashedly and unblinkingly. "Do you want my animal crackers?" he asked finally.
Jongoon didn't. He stayed with him anyway, just to make sure that no other bullies tried to steal his animal crackers. "I will protect you from bullies," he said, "but you have to call me 'hyung' and let me eat the heads off your animal crackers. You can have the rest."
"Okay...hyung," Ryeowook said, a smile playing upon his lips.
And that was that.
Many years later, Jongoon is now Yehsung, Ryeowook doesn't like buttercups as much as he used to (because they make him sneeze), and days at the playground have been replaced with endless dance sessions at the studio. They both believe that their past has been forgotten by the other, but that changes when Donghae and Kyuhyun triumphantly bring home a jumbo bag of animal crackers (jumbo because it's hard for 13 people to share a normal-sized bag).
"You forgot to give Ryeowook," complained Heechul, as Yehsung passes the bag over to Hankyung.
He ignores him (because sometimes Rella just begs to be ignored) and starts eating his crackers. After he takes a bite out of each one (except for the monkeys, which he still hates because he's the only one who's fully clothed), he passes them to Ryeowook, who smiles and accepts them.
"Thanks, hyung."

Abbi: I WILL ADOPT YOU YESUNGGGG
Kaye: NO WAI I ADOPTED HIM FIRST
Kaye: you wanna be ninang? [you wanna be his aunt?]
Kaye: you can give him dolls so he can bite off the heads 8D
Abbi: .....YAY OKAY 8D
Abbi: did you adopt Ryeo yet
Abbi: I WAN HIM SO WE CAN MARRY OUR KIDS
Abbi: 8D
Kaye: not yet. SIGE SAYO NALANG OMG YAY [not yet. Okay, you can adopt Ryeo, OMG YAY]
Kaye: but i wanted ryeo din ah. [I wanted Ryeo too.]
Abbi: but then you wun be able to marry them 8D
Kaye: yes.
Kaye: which is why i'm letting you adopt him. 8D
