Pairing: QMi, ninja!HenWook and SiHan
Category: Christmassy Fluff
Summary: Christmas parties are always chaotic at the Super Junior dorm. This year is no different.
The very first thing KyuHyun saw when he walked into the dorms was DongHae and EunHyuk chasing each other around the den and generally leaving chaos in their wake. This was nothing new; on their days off, and sometimes not even then, the duo would be found causing mayhem of some kind. So it wasn’t the fact that DongHae had just vaulted himself over the couch and nearly slammed into the coffee table that made him stop and stare.
It was the (very) large pair of artificial antlers on top of DongHae’s head, probably half his height by themselves, the glowing clown nose over his own, and the jingling collar around his neck.
The English Christmas music blasting through the room didn’t really help either.
“…Should I even ask,” he murmured, feeling YeSung stop behind him and stare as well.
“It’s a Christmas party, isn’t it?” LeeTeuk walked by, humming to himself and wearing his own pair of antlers, though admittedly much smaller than DongHae’s. “I thought getting in the spirit a little couldn’t hurt.”
“I think DongHae hyung took you too seriously,” KyuHyun deadpanned as he watched DongHae run through a doorway, his antlers hitting the top of the frame and causing him to fall over on his back (And on top of EunHyuk).
“He wanted to be Rudolph, I’m not going to say no,” LeeTeuk shrugged. “Don’t just stand there in the doorway, come in and help out. YeSung, RyeoWook needs help with the baking.” YeSung came out from behind KyuHyun and ran into the kitchen.
“Kyu~! Come help me with the tree!” SungMin called from the corner of the den, a small pair of antlers on top of his own head. Walking over, KyuHyun hoped they wouldn’t make him wear a pair as well.
Together, they got the tree to stand up straight, though when the stand broke they ended up more-or-less propping it up against the wall. It was a real tree, though it was a mystery how they’d gotten one, the smell of pine quickly filling the room. It was then lost in the smell of cookies from the kitchen. RyeoWook had to chase YeSung out of the kitchen after he caught the elder stealing cookies behind his back.
A few other members wandered in from their schedules at various points over the day, SiWon and Han Geng kidnapped by LeeTeuk to help with the rest of the decorations. SungMin and KyuHyun were joined by YeSung after the cookie incident, only he hindered more than he helped, knocking over two ornaments as he placed up one.
LeeTeuk was everywhere, fussing over the stockings and wreath and decorations. It had to be perfect he said, even KiBum had managed to get a day off and would be here later on in the night. Though his constant stressing wore on their nerves somewhat, no one said anything. They wanted it to be perfect too.
Finally the tree was all fixed. Just in the nick of time too; when KyuHyun saw LeeTeuk pull out extra pairs of antlers, he deemed he’d helped enough and escaped to his room.
Approximately an hour later, chaos erupted in the form of several members arriving at once. The group from China must have been part of the problem, because Geng quickly reverted back to Mandarin and was chattering happily with someone. KyuHyun remained in his room, partly because SungMin had stopped by earlier and advised him to do so until the antlers had run out; if LeeTeuk saw him he wasn’t going to be able to escape the leader’s ‘spirit of Christmas’.
Playing Starcraft while he waited for the commotion to die down, KyuHyun didn’t hear his bedroom door open and close softly. What he did hear was a loud “KUI XIAAAAAAN~!”, right before a large body collided with him and knocked him clean off his chair and onto the floor.
“What the he- Mi, get off,” KyuHyun groaned, pushing at the man on top of him. Zhou Mi grinned at him, his legs still hanging off the chair KyuHyun had occupied less than a second ago. If it wasn’t for the fact he was going to have a pounding headache in a few minutes, KyuHyun would have been impressed it had stayed upright.
“Merry Christmas Kui Xian! Wo ai ni~” Zhou Mi chirped, kissing KyuHyun full on the mouth. Giving a noise of protest (he was still being squished to death, hello), KyuHyun stopped flailing after a moment and returned the kiss.
A sigh of relief escaped him when Zhou Mi finally rolled off of him, the chair finally tipping over with a bang. Wincing and sitting up, KyuHyun got a good look at his boyfriend, and stared.
Zhou Mi was dressed in red from head to toe, but it wasn’t just shirt and pants. It was a suit, a big fluffy suit, with white cotton trimmings and black buttons down the front. Black boots covered his feet, as did white mitts for his hands. And last but not least, a red Santa hat was perched on top of his head, pulled down low over his ears and hair.
“I think DongHae wasn’t the only one taking this too seriously,” KyuHyun groaned in Mandarin, laying back down on his back and staring at the ceiling. “Santa, Mi? Please tell me you didn’t walk here like that.”
“Why not?” Zhou Mi questioned, sitting up and hovering in KyuHyun’s field of vision, grinning down at him. “The fans liked it.”
“I’m sure they did,” KyuHyun muttered, crinkling his nose as the cotton ball at the end of the hat tickled his nose. He could see the media coverage now; Santa Zhou Mi wasn’t something you saw everyday.
“Why are you hiding in your room?” Zhou Mi asked, pulled KyuHyun back into a seated position.
“LeeTeuk’s running loose with a box full of antlers,” KyuHyun replied, getting to his feet. “The most dangerous place to be right now is in his way.”
“I didn’t see any box,” Zhou Mi replied, blinking. “But I did see Dong Hai and Li Xiu with antlers. And Henli vanished as soon as we got in.”
KyuHyun shook his head. Of course Henry would be their leader’s prime target. “He probably decided you were ‘in the Christmas spirit’ enough and let you go. Though you’re too skinny to be a Santa.”
The door to his room opened just then, Henry darting in and closing it behind him. “Oh, hi ge’s,” he said, looking around. “You wouldn’t happen to have an emergency exit, would you?”
KyuHyun laughed. “How did you manage to escape LeeTeuk’s clutches?”
“HeeChul ge showed up. I don’t think he liked DongHae ge dressing up HeeBum too much.” Listening, they could hear HeeChul screeching even through the closed door.
“Henli, aren’t you used to this?” Zhou Mi asked, blinking. “You’re from Canada, isn’t Christmas a big thing there?”
“It is, but not like this.” Henry looked like he was seriously considering the window as an escape opportunity.
Thankfully (for the Canadian’s health), the door flung open yet again and RyeoWook jammed a Santa hat down on Henry’s head. “There, he can’t say anything now,” he beamed as Henry gave a noise of dismay. “Come on, YeSung hyung is in charge of caroling!” He grabbed Henry’s hand and pulled him out, the younger man protesting the entire way in flustered English.
Zhou Mi beamed at KyuHyun, who was caught between amusement at Henry and an impending sense of doom that he wasn’t going to be able to escape the caroling.
It was then that LeeTeuk found them, and proceeded to chase KyuHyun around the dorms with the last pair of antlers. The magnae thought for sure he would have escaped if it hadn’t been for Zhou Mi tackling him at the last second and keeping him pinned to the ground until LeeTeuk had the antlers firmly on his head.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he grumbled sullenly as Zhou Mi giggled like a schoolgirl.
“I can staple them on if you like,” LeeTeuk remarked sweetly, and KyuHyun shut up.
It didn’t take long for the others to arrive. With all 15 members present (KiBum showed up amid cheers and an overenthusiastic tackling from DongHae), the dorm was looking much smaller and cramped. But no one said anything (HeeChul was all too happy to use Geng and SiWon as his seats if things got too crowded), happy the entire group had made it for once.
As he expected, KyuHyun was dragged into a caroling session with YeSung and RyeoWook. The carols were mostly in English, which had Henry facepalming the entire time, but it was fun. Especially when alcohol was introduced (which it was bound to sooner or later). They were reminded YeSung’s fail was increased dramatically while under the influence of alcohol when the singer fell asleep in the middle of singing ‘Jingle Bells’.
Caroling came to a quick end, but when it was decided they needed a Frosty the Snowman, it turned out to be in all their favors YeSung was asleep and unable to protest.
At some point during the fun and games, RyeoWook dragged Henry off into the kitchen to get the cookies he’d been baking. About 15 minutes later, KyuHyun realized they were still gone, the others moved on to an improvised ‘pin the tail on the Rudolph’ (suddenly DongHae didn’t find his outfit so funny anymore).
“What’s taking them so long?” he muttered to Zhou Mi, who blinked and shrugged, looking the picture of innocence with a donkey ‘tail’ in his hand.
Finally the two did emerge with the cookies, bright red and stumbling over each other. KyuHyun raised one eyebrow, but didn’t comment.
When SiWon and Geng vanished an hour later into the kitchen, and didn’t return for yet another hour, he wondered what was in there that was keeping them so long.
Getting up, he wandered into the kitchen, looking around. Nothing seemed out of place, a turkey cooking in the oven and various ingredients littering the counters.
Commotion behind him got his attention, and he turned to see LeeTeuk and HeeChul manhandle Zhou Mi into the kitchen. The skinny ‘Santa’ stumbled over his large boots and fell onto his rear with an indignant yelp.
The duo vanished as suddenly as they’d come, in a flurry and laughter and high-fives. Wondering just how much alcohol they’d had, KyuHyun padded over to help a pouting Zhou Mi to his feet. “The taller they are, the harder they fall,” he chuckled. Zhou Mi pouted at him, which just resulted in the younger laughing more.
“I don’t even know what that was about,” Zhou Mi huffed, crossing his arms. “They just grabbed me and shoved me in here.”
“Be thankful you’re not out there,” KyuHyun noted, hearing shouting and laughter. “I think DongHae just tried to stab EunHyuk with his antlers.”
“If he tried to pin the tail on Dong Hai, I’m not surprised,” Zhou Mi laughed.
“Who gave him such huge antlers anyways? DongHae can’t even hold a butter knife without somehow stabbing someone. Most often himself.”
Zhou Mi’s laughter trailed off as his eyes landed on something above KyuHyun’s head. A smirk appeared on his lips, looking too much like KyuHyun’s for the other man’s comfort. “I think I figured out what was taking them so long.”
“Really? Does it involve looking creepy?” KyuHyun blinked as Zhou Mi came at him, backing up nervously. “You know, I was joking about being too skinny. You look great in a Santa suit, though slightly on the psychotic side.”
Zhou Mi backed him up against the counter, then smiled brightly. “Nope.” He pointed straight up.
Hanging innocently from the ceiling above their heads was a piece of mistletoe.
KyuHyun barely had time to say “Oh” before Zhou Mi was on him, open mouth crushing against his eagerly. The last coherent thought KyuHyun had was it was a good thing Zhou Mi hadn’t felt the need to complete his costume with a beard.
“How long do you think they’ll be?” LeeTeuk asked the group, curled up on the couch next to KangIn and looking much too pleased with himself.
“Not too long, the turkey needs to come out in two hours,” RyeoWook protested, trailing off into giggles when Henry placed his chin on the other man’s bony shoulder and blew in his ear.
The turkey ended up burning a little when no one wanted to go into the kitchen.
