Summary: He was a disgrace to human kind because of what he was and a disgrace to his own kind because of whom he loved.

Rain poured down from the dark skies. It was only two in the afternoon, but such gloomy weather made the day seem like it was almost ending. Why is it that it’s always raining when something is coming to an end? Why must it end this way? He could ask himself question after question, but the fact would remain. He was no longer pure, no longer allowed to be with the person he loved. Love. He wasn’t allowed to fall in love, not with a human. His gazed shifted to the broad man who was currently holding his picture, asking those around him if they had seen him. No one can see me now. He lowered his eyes to the ground in shame. He was a disgrace to human kind because of what he was and a disgrace to his own kind because of whom he loved. A failure. His gaze shifted to once more to the man he loved, Kangin. Tears stung his eyes. “It‘s for the best.” the hybrid whispered.
Jungsoo gazed up at the skies and allowed his stained wings to splay out to their full extent. It was time to go home.

“I don’t understand what went wrong!” Kangin exclaimed, roughly drying his hair with a towel. The young man was currently pacing the living room, explaining his situation to his best friend.
Siwon crossed his long slender legs and leaned back to rest comfortably on the couch. “Didn’t he leave a note or something?” he asked.
Kangin shook his head, “He didn’t. He was gone before I even woke up this morning. And he doesn’t have a number I can call to contact him.”
Siwon sighted, resting his head back, eyes glancing at the white ceiling. “Maybe, Kangin, maybe Leeteuk just didn’t love you enough to stay.”
Kangin froze in his pacing. His eyes narrowed. “Leeteuk loves me,” he hissed, “There is just something that is keeping him away.”
“What’s keeping him away,” Siwon continued, ignoring the tone of voice Kangin had used, “his fear of commitment or the fact that he is already engaged to someone else.”
“What are you implying? Leeteuk doesn’t have anyone but me in his life.”
“Are you sure, Kangin, or is that what he told you.”
Kangin sat down in defeat. “We made love.” he whispered.

“You’re back.”
Jungsoo shivered at the cold voice belonging to his future sister-in-law, the princess. He bowed down in greeting, “You sent for me.” he said.
“I was informed that you were spending too much time in the realm of the humans. My brother wishes to speak with you.”
Jungsoo closed his eyes, the image of Kangin’s face after their tender love-making filled his mental vision. Sorrow gripped his chest. “I am here. What is it he wants to speak to me about?” he asked, opening his eyes.
The princess eyed carefully. “Your bath is ready, my brother will meet you in your chambers after you bathe.” She turned around, letting her pure, white wings come into view. “You are tainted. I have seen your wings.”
Jungsoo froze, fear gripping at his throat.
“Do not worry,” the princess continued, “my brother still loves you. If you allow him to take you tonight. He can claim that he was your first. No harm should come to you then.”

Kangin continued to toss him bed, the feeling of emptiness overwhelmed him. He had been unable to find Leeteuk and that had him worried sick. Where could he have gone? Kangin didn’t remember Leeteuk ever mentioning any family in Seoul. From what he knew, Leeteuk had no one left to call family. Where is he? A soft vibration from his phone made Kangin grab it instantly.
“Hello?” he answered half-breathlessly.
Silence greeted him from the other end. Kangin pulled the phone from his ear and looked at the caller id. Unknown number.
“Leeteuk?!”
A small gasp of air from the other end. Kangin’s heart soared at the hope of it being Leeteuk on the other end. He slightly panicked, not wanting Leeteuk to hang up.
“Leeteuk, don’t hang up, please.” Kangin’s voice dripped with desperation. “Baby, where are you? I love you. Please tell me where you’re at.”
The silence continued on the other line, but Kangin could make out the slight intake of breath every now and then. As if he was trying not to cry.
“Leeteuk, I love you, baby. Please. Please.” Kangin was now crying. He didn’t want to let go. No yet.
“Jungsoo!”
An intake of breath. Panic.
“Leeteuk? Leeteuk! Baby, I know it’s you. Who’s there with you?” Kangin wanted to know. He needed to know.
“I’m sorry.” came a rushed, whispered respond.
The line went dead.
Kangin knew it had been Leeteuk’s voice, asking for forgiveness.

“Who where you talking to!”
Jungsoo lowered his gaze to the floor. “No one.” he answered.
“That wasn’t no one.”
Jungsoo raised his eyes to meet those of the glaring Prince Yehsung. “It was no one of important, your highness. Can we please not talk about it.”
“Fine. If you don’t want to talk about who you were just talking to, then lets talk about; who was your first.”
Jungsoo could hear the anger and hurt that his fiancée was feeling. There was no way Jungsoo could hid the sin he had committed. His wings spoke for themselves. Ebony stains across the once, pure white feathers. He did not regret giving his whole being to the person he loved, Youngwoon. But the regret of making his fiancée feel the shame of what he had done, he wish he could take back. He knew what punishment laid before him now. He had broken more than just one law.
He had broken his vows. He had ran away from the palace. He had given himself to another that was not his fiancée. He had stained the royal name. He had reduced himself to a lowlife.
“I still love you, although another has touched you.” Prince Yehsung spoke.
“Yehsung…”
“Allow me to take you. Let me claim that I could not wait until after our wedding, please.”
Jungsoo searched the pain-filled eyes. How he wanted to say yes, to stop the pain that he had cost. But he couldn’t. Not when he had given himself completely to Youngwoon.
“I’m sorry…I can’t.”
Yehsung closed his eyes. “Please.”
He opened them again, focusing on Jungsoo.
“I love him.” Jungsoo answered.
It was like a dull knife piercing into Yehsung heart. Yehsung cleared his throat, trying to get rid of the growing knot. “Why aren’t you with him.” he asked.
Jungsoo looked at the ground, “He is a human.” he answered.
“Oh, Tuekie.”
Jungsoo looked up at the sound of his childhood nickname.
“Teukie, a human?! Don‘t tell me it was the human that my mother told you to watch over.”
Anger replacing pain in Yehsung’s voice. Jungsoo’s eyes grew wide, nervously searching Yehsung’s face.
“Teukie, Kangin isn’t human.
“Not human?” Jungsoo asked nervously.
Laughter erupted from Yehsung’s vocal chord. Taken back by the laughter, Jungsoo took a step backward. It was minutes later and a lot more laughter from Yehsung, before Jungsoo had the courage to speak.
“Why are you laughing?”
Yehsung wiped the tears from the laughter, chuckling. “I wish your lover was human. Then he could have died when you gave yourself to him.
Jungsoo gasped. “Died?!”
Yehsung faced turned serious as he regarded Jungsoo’s surprised face. “Teukie, have you ever though of why we can’t fall in love with a human? Have you ever thought of what could have happened to the person you love if he had really been a human?”
The silence that followed answered Yehsung’s questions.
“If your lover had really been a human, he would have died while you were in the process of ‘making-love’. That is why we have the law, to help protect humans.”

A/N-
Wow, I have been busy this month! I went out of state for vacation and also because of personal reasons, now its seems like I’m going to be living in this new place. I haven’t had time to really brainstorm any stories I’ve been trying to write, but this finally came… It’s not the end! “kat-elric” can be expecting two more parts to this. But those will have to wait until January. Until then HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
