that last paragraph where sharon is on the cliff is a gorgeous read. this line specifically, 'I want to believe that these warm tears running down my cheeks are nothing more than sea spray, Sharon thought.' is a transcendent concept.
so, i'm rereading that last disturbing chapter. it's really amanda i guess that befumbles me. at 1st when i read it i thought of this really devoted, desperately in-love, spineless type... but now, i don't really get her... where's her sense of justice, you know? if she loves laura why isn't she fighting for her is what i'm thinking, i guess. and that's not really answerable. it's hard to comment with the author because i don't want to get you ahead of yourself or whatever... hmm.
