Today's Bookfair

Went to the National Bookfair in Bangkok. This is a big event and I don't think I had ever been to one or anything similar before.

I'm not sure how many booths there are, but I know I could be there all day and not seeing even half of them.

I think the main attraction for me personally is the discount. Well, and the variety, too, from what I could manage to look around.

Was going to buy a Japanese learning package, but I know I would play a few CDs (if I could make myself do that much) and basically stare at the set on my shelf a few days later. I really have no discipline, and this is something I really want to do, too. (Thinking of going to a language school, but need to look around first.)

I ended up buying a manga series called: "boku to kanojo no xxx" or "Your and My Secret." Last I checked, it's the one that got released only one volume back in the U.S. There are four volumes in the set I bought, but I think the manga hasn't ended yet in Japan.

Well, I make no secret that I tend to like the switching gender type of manga (and of any kind of literature really). It's kind of awkward fun. Especially this one, since the two who get switched actually fit their new bodies better than their own ones.

The Fair runs until the 7th of this month. I wonder if I would have a chance to go there again. Besides it being far from home, the crowd is also somewhat of a drawback. OTOH, I'm glad that people like to read nowadays.

Reminds me that last month I went to the Travel fair held at the same place. Ironically, I sort of hate that fair because there are too many places, too many countries I want to visit, and too little money and time. I needed a large bag to put all the brochures I got walking around, since they were too heavy (and too loose) to be carried by themselves.

My almost week-long vacation to the sea toward the end of last month got canceled a few days before the original schedule, so I wasn't in too good a mood, which led to weird entries/comments lately.

(And this sounds more like a stream of consciousness typing. Oh well, it would make sense to me eventually.)

manga, real life
