i'm so sorry to hear about zach! he was so passionate about music!
i wouldn't at all be surprised if he was better than kids who made it into symphony. please keep me updated--i would hate to hear that he has a heart problem!

let me know how halloween was at OU! our halloween festivites don't start until saturday (though we do have trick or treating and a movie marathon tonight!)

There are some very talented people in concert band. Some only make it into symphonic band their senior years. I don't want you to feel offended by what I am saying, but I really feel that Mr. Holliday conducts the auditions as fairly as possible. Zach very well may be a better player than some of the people Mr. Holliday chose, but that is only because he gives everyone a chance to prepare his or her music and then perform it once. I hope that he could be persuaded not to quit band. Looking back I realize it was a very valuable and worthwhile activity. I had a lot of fun, and I still would have had that fun in concert band. <3

meagan and i were leaving the band room after class today and Mrs. Monigold to said Mr. Holliday "come here, I need to talk to you about something" (or something to that effect) and as the door was closing her words were "So I saw Zach..."

I'm sorry for him. I agree with Anthony in that it's very possible he is better than others in symphonic band. I would believe it.
