An old friend has passed. Someone I knew not well enough, but someone I laughed with, danced with, drank with, shared kisses with. I live in Blacksburg, but I come to DC about once a month these days.
Travel plans thrown off schedule by my decision to come up for Dirk-Con. Will you be there? I will be up again soon in any case. I need dental work, and to see my mom. When I am in DC, my travels are determined by Metro, taxis and kindness since I don't drive.

Gotcha. I do plan on making it to the wake at some point in the night.
I hear ya on the Metro, taxi, kindness thing, 'specially as I'm in the exact same situation. Give me a shout next time you're in town and perhaps we can enjoy a bit of wine and conversation in one of D.C.'s fine establishments.

I've hit a point where, even if there is an answer, I think I'll stick with my own. It took a damn long time to find it and it's probably far more interesting.

Cripes, sometimes the not knowing is even better than having the answers.
