If Aaron has to write a song about Jack, it’s about first meeting.
They met each other on the field, both as newbies - Aaron had just moved from Cardiff City and Jack had just been promoted to senior squad. After some exchanging of quick glances and shy smiles, Aaron encouraged himself to approach Jack and introduced himself, thinking, I’m the older one, I should be giving examples for the younger. Besides, he found the smile on that younger boy’s face quite irresistible.
And when Aaron was on his way home to his new apartment, the boy’s name whirling in his mind, over and over again.
Jack Andrew Wilshere, he thought. His name is Jack Andrew Wilshere.

If Aaron has to write a song about Jack, it’s about their first win.
Aaron remembered the goal, the loud cheers from Arsenal fans, the referee whistling the end of the match.
He remembered the way Jack hugged him, and how the sweetest voice in the would laughed in his ears, “We won, Aaron! We won!”.
He remembered the movement of Jack’s abdominal muscles upon their body contact, the grip of Jack’s hand on his shirt, the feel of Jack’s sweat seeping through the cloth.
And he remembered the sudden palpitation of his heart, making him wondering whether it’s simply because he’s so tired or because of Jack’s presence.

If Aaron has to write a song about Jack, it’s about home.
Jack’s apartment is small, even smaller than Aaron’s, but somehow Aaron always felt more homey if he’s there.
He himself didn’t know why. Maybe it’s because of Jack’s mother, who seemed to never learn that her little boy had grown up to be a 20-years-old man, so she often visited Jack and never forgot to bring her homemade cookies. Maybe it’s because the view from the balcony of Jack’s apartment was better. Maybe it’s because Jack tended to be a neat person.
Or maybe just because the place was seen, heard, smelled, felt, and even tasted like Jack.
And you can make sure that Aaron enjoyed every second he spent there, his “second home” as he told Jack, and his “actual home” as he said in his mind.
Because home wasn’t simply a house, it’s where your heart belonged.

If Aaron has to write a song about Jack, it’s about smile.
Jack smiled a lot.
He smiled every time Arsenal won, he smiled to cheer his teammates up when Arsenal lost, he smiled after the pain of his injury had gone, he smiled when Lauren gave birth to his son, he smiled every time his teammates came to visit him.
And Aaron never stopped wishing that, one day, those smiles would be his.

If Aaron has to write a song about Jack, it’s about tears.
Jack didn’t cry often, but still, there were times when he spilled some tears.
For example, when his ankle was broken.
Aaron remembered the pain written all over Jack’s face as the younger man was brought outside the field. He remembered Jack’s grip on the side of the litter. And he remembered the drops of crystal glimmering on the corner of Jack’s eyes.
And how he wished that he could be the one who remove them.

If Aaron has to write a song about Jack, it’s about confession.
“I love you.”
No flowers, no cakes, no candlelight dinner, no special occasion.
Just the two of them, a quiet place, and three sincere words.
And oh, Aaron’s trembling hand as he waited for Jack’s answer.
Preparing himself for rejection, he closed his eyes. As the same time, he felt a pair of luscious lips crushed themselves against his cheeks, followed by a soft voice sounding four words,
“I love you too.”
