Duchess Ravenwaves Dress
So, I finally got around to take pics of my progress with the Duchess Ravenwaves dress that I ahem, intended to finish some two years ago now is it.. I haven't had time to work on dress or wig for some time though, but I hope to change that soon as Halloween is soon upon as again. You can find pics of the dress here.
And yeah, not the best of pics, wonky lighting and crowded area and all that, but I hope to have eo help me take in costume piccies later. I took a bunch of piccies when I did the underskirt from scratch and all, but I emptied those memory cards to mum's puter, and mum managed to crash her puter not too long ago now..
The skirt is somewhat fluffy, even with two petticoats under it, the purple one I have borrowed from briseis, and it fills out the inner part of the skirt nicely! :) But, I'm actually thinking of buying another petticoat similar to the upper one, just to make it all supperfluffy! And yepp, I guess one could say it'll be a slightly more updated version of the actual dress, seeing as I've made it less of an empire waist and so, and I'll also redo the way the ribbons are oriented on the top piece.
I'll try and find a styrofoam head to mod and somehow attach to the dress form so I can show off the wig "in place" with the dress. The wig does need additional working on still though. I've just about sewn the two wigs together, need to trim and curl hair, and possibly also add even more hair in the form of loose wefts to sew onto it all. I also need to relocate the Comb Gnome that I started sewing on, or rather the plushie I started modding to turn into a Comb Gnome ;)
In the world of Lady Lovely Locks, there are small creatures called pixietails you see, they're kind of like your everyday little chipmunk, rabbit or other, only has long magical tails.. and they like to live in the huge hairs that the characters have and also act like little helpers. Naturally, Duchess Ravenwaves, being the villain and all, has an own kind of pixietails namely Comb Gnomes, that are quite the mischievous wittle buggers.
I should've tried the dress on sooner though, as I'm hoping it won't be too odd-fitting with me having sewn the purple fabric for the top onto the corsetty top I used as base.. fabric onto fabric has a tendency to live its own life sometimes. I think dress fitting will be tomorrow's project..

I also posted a set with some piccies of Lady Lovely Locks Desktops that I've made. Oh, that reminds me, I need to make a psuedo post for them in miravisupixels later, since I've meant for them all to be downloadable only from ladylovelylocks.org. But I am hoping the Webmistress for the site will get back to me, 'cause I need to send her the latest desktop image so she can add it.

Also, having browsed around youtube, first 'cause I simply wanted to rewatch that a Capella version of Super Mario and others, I stumbled over an a capella version of Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by the Carleton Singing Knights. This made me ponder.. should Scooter (you know, him with the Faster, Harder, Scooter song) and Daft Punk ever do a song together, wonder what the title would be? :P I also dread to imagine what it would sound like ;P
Anyhow.. was at the local fair & tivoli today, watched Scylla ride a few tivoli thingies (does one say carousel for karuseller? as it somehow feels out of place to me). Still have cleaning, fiddling and in general trying to catch up on stuff atm, and trying to figure out how to manage this upcoming fall... I seem to lack even common goals for the day for the most part, need to get out of this future feel of doooom.
