Lexx-O-Rama
LoR was waaaarm, The sun is up to no good during this time of year, I tell you!
It's more warm than usually too. So the poor lexxians that visited LoR had to take things very slow during the day.. I felt so zombie like when I was walking off from the cabin. But I did have a good time just that I wish it had at least rained once :P
I'll try to upload pics later, and I think I'm like two or one year behind with pics as it is.
Accidents
Meanwhile I was away, I read about two accidents occuring near Vännäs. A young male that used to go in the same class as my brother did in 7th to 9th class drowned, and then a young female (that went to the school mum works at) was hit by a car when she was about to cross the road with her moped. According to my brother, had her friend not been with her, they might not have been able to identify her that easily.. yes, I know, slightly TMI..
One always thinks stuff like this happens elsewhere, not in the small non-town here, yet sad stuff like this does happen here and it seems there was another one that just happened about 1 hour ago at a location somewhat inbetween Vännäs and Umeå according to vk.se, although it seems there were thankfully only mild injuries.
Some pretty odd (but not uncommon) discussions going on the local newspaper's online edition for the earlier moped accident. Some very insensitive people and of course the trolls that enjoy asking "where are the parents?" which is sort of an infamous thing to say whenever youths are involved in accidents and other occurances like this.
What was really downright insensitive and rude was some year ago now, when that young boy drowned in an outdoor pool here, and someone commented on the article saying they were most upset since they had a season card and since the pool area was shut off they couldn't use it. Like wtf? Had it been their child or someone whose child they knew, would they really have been so keen on bathing there asap after the accident occurred? And the staff must've had a pretty awful time too. Of course, could've been a troll too, but quite the elaborate troll if so. As I can actually imagine someone being that emotionally shielded.
We passed by the area where the moped accident happened just now. Lots of flowers and candles around a road side marker thing, which must be just near where she got hit. I also just saw another comment to one of the articles related to this accident, that said this person had arrived at the scene of the accident some 5 mins after it happened it was a sight they surely would not forget and in fact had seen replayed in their head continously afterwards. So s/he felt it was very tragic for people to go trolling and trying to pinpoint blame etc and that their thoughts was with the girl's family and relatives. What's done is done. Nothing can bring that girl back.
Living can suck, yes. But death by an accident like this sucks even more. So many what ifs that must haunt those that survive, whether they are relatives of the victim or other involved. I think I'd still want to live forever, even though the price to pay for immortality is high.
Now, time to try and sleep and think less negative thoughts. Stuff like this can actually make one contemplate life too much :/
