Why So Serious?

THE DARK KNIGHT

I watched The Dark Knight.. and yum, here's me trying to drool not too much over Mr Bale and the overall dark cinematography oh and nifty technology stuff.

Some of my favourite moments..

"Hands up, pretty boy"

..and cue Bruce/Batman pounding down that bad guy. He does the the Bruce/Batman transformation wonderfully.. and the look on his face and eyes, how it shifts along with his movement.. the carefreeness behind the eyes turns into something a whole lot darker *purrs*

"Then you're gonna love me"

Some may feel Christian Bale overdid the voice thing, but I think not, although something tells me he must on occasion have been coughing due to the raspyness of the Batman voice. Then again, it is likely it was a special effect thingy after all ;) He is overall very good at expressing emotions through his voice. One thing that did bother me a bit though, it seems like he did lose some weight compared to his appearence in Batman Begins? Mr Bale's face looks somehow more thin, then again given that what Batman's been doing is supposed to have to have started takings its toll on him and all that..

Some other character musing..
I must say Katie Holmes was more likeable as Rachel Dawes, although Maggie Gyllenhaal felt more believeable as an um lawyer person, but something about her face that just makes me dislike her, I'm not sure why. (Her brother Jake looks most promising in pics as Prince Dastan in upcoming Prince of Persia: Sands of Time movie though, ohyesss)

..and about that ending..
The ending of TDK sort of left me with the same kind of feeling the ending of The Two Towers did.. ie, where the hell is the rest of the movie?! But as due to the unfortunate demise of Heath Ledger (who for the record did indeed did an amazing performance).. would a third movie be any good or just how would they angle that?

*pouts for a bit and contemplates whether the rumours about featuring Catwoman in a third movie will be true or not*

Although P just said he thought that Fox or someone else owned the rights for Catwoman.

And yepp, I have added a few Batman-verse related fanfics to my list of favourite fanfiction..

OVERTHINKAGE

I was just struck with how technology makes new yet parallel uses possible.. take for instance the smutty romance novels in their pocketbooky paper form and compare them to virtual fanfiction. And certain magazine that people, read: hormone stinted males foremost, buy and not to read the intelligent articles, rather lack there of (as well as clothing on voluptuous vixens with bodily boastings sometimes fresh from the plastic surgeon) compared to the virtual edition, that I'm sure most of us are aware of by now.. it's like females are stereotyped to textually put themselves into the situation of others, whereas males do a lot less of that kind of interpersonal situational rpg, rather the opposite. I think it'd benefit both camps to a) not take things over the top in each faction at the expense/abuse of other people etc and b) not be afraid to broaden ones horizons.. And that's all I write on that matter unless I put a rating disclaimer up and take this to a new level discussing "fe/male" ;)

Change.. the one real factor for life? As when you think about it.. we seem to seek out change, but it's the one thing that can guarantee being alive, feeling, existing. And sadly, I was also struck with how this makes life and death ever so logical from that perspective as well.

We've always turned to metahumans of some sort for their guidance or simply of sheer idol worship. But it makes sense too. Entity E, with Attributes A, all enhanced to make Outcome O all the more Dramatic with capital D. We do observe to gain more experience and knowledge, and for the sheer value of satisfaction and entertainment.

We keep busy, to keep ourselves distracted from the outcome of it all, to make it all worthwhile?

DREAM

Had a dream where I was floating around in a game ish world, and saw how it aged and became more doomsday like as I was going through it. Well, I wasn't there-there, it's just like one watches around in a game really, only in virtual reality kind of.

And oh yeah, I'm an aunt now :)
