Argh
Drunken psychos should not be allowed, _anywhere_. When me and
eoeo left yesterday's Halloween party and were walking towards downtown, someone kicked a glass bottle at me and it hit the backside of my left elbow ish, and I'm fairly sure he did it on purpose too. At first I just reacted to the bottle breaking near me, and then once started walking again I felt a numbaching sensation in my left arm, and realised I had been hit..
Mum thought I should have the arm looked at this morning when I told her about it, so was driven to the emergency ward in Umeå by sister. But after some hours of waiting the doctor poked around a little bit in the swollen area and concluded what I suspected already, that there was no glass in the wound (as there was no rip or tear in my jacket). Yet I did manage to get a small wound from which a few drops of blood came from after it had happened, so must be why they thought it could be glass in there since the skin was pierced.
It's funny the things that goes through your head when waiting for the doctor.. firstly, I could never work in a hospital, I am way too easily tearyeyed and emotional. Secondly, if I was mutant in the Xmenverse my powers would probably involve something with empathy, projecting or sensing others emotions.
The doctor was really nice and even hugged me, but they didn't say much about the swelling and so though. I think got a pencillin prescription waiting for me, but I wonder if it really is necessary, and I think dad is allergic to pencillin so I wonder what the chances are of me being it too.
Let me just say I do not want to remove contact lenses with one hand only again. Also, I do not type very fast with my right hand compared to my left hand.. gah, I hope the swelling goes down and the aching fades away sooooon so I can actually move and use that arm and get stuff done, as when I prioritised finishing on as much as possible of the Duchess Ravenwaves costume other stuff got put on hold >_< Had I been more coolheaded I should've told eo to snap a few shots of the drunken psycho, as it certainly would've made things easier if reporting it to the police. It all happened too fast and too slow at the same time however, and I kept telling myself it wasn't that bad even even though I struggled to not start crying in public.
Costume-O-Rama
Aaanyhow, I didn't manage to finish on all details on my costume however (like the ribbons, and it would've been so great to have had a comb gnome with me, but maybe I can finish one for Scylla later), but someone did recognise my outfit yesterday, and a male too! I wasn't expecting that at all :) He wore a very nice madhatter outfit btw, a pity I didn't remember/manage to take a pic of it though, as mum's camera turned out to be eeevil. Apparently Sony cameras when in flash mode cannot do serial shots, even if one disables the flash temporarily. So it's a lot of fuss going into the menu setup changing that. Then my Panasonic actually is nicer, since one can actually manage to take a semi-decent shot in serial mode even if it's somewhat dark. But for really good pics, a DSLR with a superduper lens would be best, yes, but since I'm not anywhere near filthy rich atm..
We saw a few really worked through outfits, one was some harlequiny character, another looked World of Warcraft inspired with horns and all, but it could've been an overall fantasy warrior thing too though. Zombies, elves, pirates and the works.. And oh yeah, whathisname with the big sword :P It was a cute detail that those in the bar wore police caps/outfits, one even had a veeery fake looking moustache. Some piccies can be found
here. I'll see if the ones I took are any good later.
