I have an underactive thyroid, it runs in my family. Getting it diagnosed was great, and has helped a lot with my sleep/tiredness/depression issues. It's just done with a blood test, so it is easy to check - and the doctor shouldn't make you feel like a fool for asking, I hope, even if the test rules it out. Good luck!

Thank you! I'm mostly worried it'll "only" be a case of too little sleep/food, and thus creating an evil circle, and it'll feel like I have wasted the doc's time. But I have had issues with jaw discs that could cause the headaches I've been having lately, and I know my puter mouse hand does get colder than my other hand. So at least I have other stuff to toss at the doc.

Did you ever get headaches?

I would get my thyroid checked but it could be what your eating isn't energy food and it could just be that you really need sleep.

I got my thyroid checked because I felt tired a lot but it came back clean. I think starch makes me feel tired. When I'm eating lots of fruits, veggies and protein I'm fine.

Yeah, it'd be so nice if it could explain my dry skin too, 'cause there are days when it itches so much.

Some days I eat very healthy, when I do manage to make myself eat more. But there are other days when I simply must eat all those choccy bars, simply 'cause I can..

I have such dry skin and for me I've decided I can't use store bought soap. Something in it doesn't like me. Probably the chemicals. Luckily for me we have a local soap shop and they have natural soaps. My fav is a Shea Butter and Lavendar soap. Helps so much with the itch because both lavendar and Shea Butter are anti-itch natural products.

I hear ya. I'm so bad about Chocolate.

make sure to have a total indocrine pannel, just to be on the safe side.

my family have thyroid issues. overactive, underactive, parathyroid issues. the best thing is to go in and tell the doctor your concerns. lucky for you, your health services want you to be healthy and happy. my issue only came out after an ER visit...
