I have to agree with Richard on this one. I know I don't know you as well as some people, but what I do know about you is that you are amazingly sweet. You have always, at least to me, given off the impression that you care about others far more than you care about yourself. Anyway, that aside, you are lucky to have a wonderful family. Every family has issues, but they love you very, very much and are lucky to be related to you! Woot for your brother for sticking up for you, and woot for you for listening to your mom's side of the story.
