It's just wrong to put so much emphasis on "succeeding" in sports. It should be about getting exercise and having fun. People simply have different aptitudes when it comes to sports and that should be respected. Just like people have different intellectual capabilities.
I remember feeling so useless when we were supposed to run a certain amounts of laps around the football field. Outside. In the cold. In Iceland. I just couldn't do it. I always took longer than most of the others and I always had to walk huge parts of the way.
Thankfully we did swimming too. My parents took my swimming a lot when I was little, so I always felt very at home in the water. I wish I could have spent all of my P.E. classes at the pool...

I didn't realise that P.E. had been so bad in Germany. If P.E. in Hólabrekkuskóli was fine in comparison then... wow. P.E. in Hóló wasn't exactly hell, but it wasn't at all good.
Most of my school problems started in Breiðholtsskóli, so I my experience in Hóló may be coloured by them.
