I have found that while many things happen in life, not everything is important enough to be written about. Tell us of the things that are in your mind, right now! those are probably the most interesting to you, and, therefore, the most interesting to us.
You may consider what your intention in blogging is. If you are blogging for your Audience, then you might write differently than if you were blogging just for a reference for yourself in the future to look back upon.
I, myself, am curious about New York! Partly what you were doing there, and what you learned, and also just about the City! What's New York like? Is it like tv? Or does it pulse with it's own, unique life force that the cliches and cartoons are unable to capture?
As far as Normal goes, normal is a highly subjective, almost meaningless term. It seems to be similar to 'average', or maybe 'predictable.' Really, normal is probably something that changes quite a bit as a person goes through life.
Well, while I went to New York, I didn't go to the City; or at least, not Manhattan.
I was in Brooklyn the whole time. More specifically, a section of Brooklyn called Crown Heights that is populated primarily with Chabad Chassidic Jews and black people. I was going to a Jewish seminary called Machon Chana, and residing in the dormitory with other Jewish women. This sort of place, the cartoons and cliches don't often journey to.
I went there to learn... to reinforce and strengthen my Yiddishkeit, and in particular, to learn about the Jewish Home. The Jewish Home, consisting of a Jewish Marriage, Jewish children, and the atmosphere that pervades it all. Could I have learned a lot more? To be sure - I was only there for 3 weeks. I certainly didn't want to leave, either. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn more. Yet, the night before I left, I was talking on the phone with telumehtar, and I was realizing that I actually did learn what I came there for. Not only that, I also have more resources for learning even here in

Hmm... but if they are robotic monkeys, wouldn't the audience also be the creator(s) of the monkeys?
