So his parents didn't freak out or disapprove the way I was afraid they would (I know, I know... I must have issues). Now the plan is for them to meet my folks (minus the sister who is apparently going to be elsewhere). I'm hoping we'll finally get to talk about some of the details. The sooner I can get plans in place for all these Important ( Read more... )

I'm glad everything is working out well on the family front!

If you need help with any planning stuff I might be able to help. Are you the sort of person who feels better once you have a plan? I am, so for me the first few weeks were really frazzled, but once I had a plan down I felt a lot better. But if that's not the way you are then I'm afraid I don't really know what to tell you :) Everything *will* come together though.

Love to you!

Yes, plans are happiness! I've been wanting to get plans in place for several weeks, but I can't do much of anything until I know what his family would prefer (I don't have to follow their preferences, but it would be very, very helpful at least to know what they are). And I haven't been able to get any information on that front.

Hopefully that will be cleared up this weekend, as his mother has arranged to meet my parents and I think (I hope) that's part of what will be discussed. But yeah, the lack of plan is making me crazy. And yeah, I have a while before it becomes critical if I were buying most of whatever ends up being involved, but I think I'll be making virtually everything, and that requires extra time.

In the meantime, I'm staring at websites and scheming and glancing at one or two of Ranulph's library books on the subject.

Making everything will add a very nice touch to the wedding, but you're right that it'll add a bit of time too. But that's ok, you still have plenty of it. If you're like me you'll worry over trying to find all the perfect ideas for everything within the first few weeks, and then by the time the wedding actually happens it'll all be completely different, but it will be right :)

Give me a holler if you need anything or have questions about how such-and-such works or if you're forgetting anything or whatnot. I might still remember :)

Thank you! Don't worry, I've been trying not to let myself get too obvious about these things (and probably failing utterly in person). And not much is going to be happening immediately anyway, so not all that much has really changed. *blink* I think I'm babbling.
