Well, that's irritating

I am waiting on supplies from two different companies to finish a few of the pieces I'm putting up for sale, but despite being ordered on SUNDAY, neither have turned up with today's post. I wasn't expecting them yesterday of course, but I WAS expecting them today. I am now cross. I know it's getting busy post-wise, but surely it's not that busy yet ( Read more... )

*hugs* Hang in there. I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

It gives me a bit more time I suppose. Serves me right for leaving it this late, I shouldn't moan!

Speaking about postal service, though: Do you think you could send out a piece so that it technically has a chance of arriving (just) before Christmas? (Assuming that there will be no post strike in either of our countries, no snow storms, earth quakes or other natural desasters, and no sudden illness, of course.) My granny would be the money-giver, and she's always very when she can't actually see the gift she's giving the very day the gift-giving happens. Naturally, I'd like to avoid that! I'm aware that if I ask for something you have to make especially, I'd have to wait longer, so I'd try to fall for something that's already finished (shouldn't be hard, you've been showing so many lovely things in the past) -- would that work, or would that still put you under undue stress?

I think it's just domestic post. Overseas post goes Parcel Force which is separate from Royal Mail in terms of its operations. Obviously, it'd be easier if it was something I'd already made, but if not, it's only the 3rd today, so I think it'd be ok. I just checked last posting dates and it's the 14th for normal international post to Europe and the 19th for Airsure, so we have some time.

I had something posted to me on Monday, recorded delivery, and the sender was told it's taking 3-5 days at the moment. Sorry to be bearer of bad news! Is it worth posting any 'in progress' pics so we get the idea of what you've planned? :)

Oh you're joking. GAH. Thanks for letting me know, I really appreciate it. Photos is an idea, but I don't like posting pics until things are completely done, plus it'll spoil any impact they (might) have when the finished ones are put up. Plus by the time I've taken, chosen and posted pics, I could be finishing the stuff I can get done - I fell asleep without meaning to, so it's actually now just as well I have a bit more time *blush*.

Also, is it me or do things not only seem to have have gotten very slow very early, but have gotten even more slow than usual for the time of year? I don't THINK it's because I have my grumpy head on, or not entirely anyway.

No, it's definitely slower, but I think (wearing my UNISON Steward hat) that there are a lot of very unhappy postmen who are not-exactly-striking-but-not-going-the-extra-ten-miles around. The changes that have been made to our local rounds are ridiculous and random and pissing a lot of people off!
