Dec 08, 2013 16:07

Betcha thought it wasn't going to happen but here it is. Better late than never? Maybe. This week has been chaotic (note that word) and one of the reasons for that chaos is currently sleeping in the bathroom where I have put him to stop him getting his tiny paws into absolutely everything and allow me to photograph my work. I can't hear him, so I'm ( Read more... )

It is gorgeous. So how big is the necklace overall? Chain and the kitsune/torii part?

At the moment, the chain is 17" and a whisker and the kitsune/torii part is 2 inches. I can however make the chain shorter by taking some of the beads out each side so it can be as long as you wanted really.

Is it coincidence that you used a 5 Yen coin for the Kitsune necklace, or did you do that on purpose? :D

The hunting owl is fantastic and soooo tempting... but I think I'll stick with the good old Gothic rose bracelet from last year's post. It's gonna go well with other pieces that I already have, and it's just soooo gorgeous! Do you think you could make it in time for Christmas, though? It looks so finicky with all those lovely knots...

If nekojita can't take the kitsune necklace - me me pick me!!!!!

(sneaks out to nobble nekojita)

That is a really nice piece of work (the necklace I mean, not the nobbling)!

The friend who brought me the coins (those and another kind) told me those were the ones offered at the shrines, so yup, on purpose. I took her at her word and used it in the necklace.

No need to nobble! :D Nekojita did take it, but I have the materials for another, including the coin, if you'd like one. Wouldn't be in time for Christmas though if you were wanting it to wear then, I'm really sorry :/

I suspect the first bit was directed at my question, and yes, that was indeed why I asked whether you'd used it on purpose - because people typically offer 5 Yen at shrines and temples. So you did! Yay!

It was, I'm losing my mind, I swear!

Ok, as to your bracelet, if I get myself organised I can do it in time, just. It's going to be tight, but if Loki kitten is shut in the bathroom for a little while each day I can snatch the time to make your bracelet. He won't mind, he has a cat tree, litter box, bed, food and a ton of toys in there!
