A few people asked me the steambuns recipe that I use for my steam buns. So here it finally is 8D
Ingredients
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 3/4 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sesam oil
- Whatever filling you like to fill them with
Methode
- Dissolve 1/4 cup sugar in 1 3/4 cups warm water, and add the yeast.
- Let stand for 10 minutes
- Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons shortening and the yeast mixture. mix well.
- cover it with a sheet of cling wrap. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours.
- Roll the dough into a long roll, and divide it into 24 pieces
- Flatten de pieces and create a thin circle. The center should be thicker than the edges.
- Fill the dough and enclose it.
- Let them stand for 10 minuten
- Steam the buns 12 minutes.
