This does not bode well.

Okay, what's this word on the street with the bug going around? Because as it stands, I woke up with a headache and other assorted unpleasantness, and I want to know if it's because I should be hospitalized or if it's because I've been studying too hard for the upcoming Epicurus exam. And seeing as how I haven't studied at all, I've got more than ( Read more... )

There are always bugs going around, and lots and lots of them. Arthropoda is the largest and most diverse phylum on Earth. You're... only noticing this now? But you say the bug, when there are many... is it especially dangerous, or rare?

People are getting sick. Some get delirious and stop making sense completely, so I think I'll stay in my room until this is over.

Um... bug as in the slang word for virus. Flies and cockroaches are the least of my problems at the moment.

I'm assuming I should skip out on classes for a while if there's going to be a flux of people not making sense.

Well, if you want to get technical... it's not like that... Hemiptera are "true bugs", not cockroaches and flies. Those are in orders Blattaria and Diptera, respectively. Therefore, a better example would have been something like a Cicada or a leafhopper. WHY is "bug" a slang word for a virus? They are not even in the same kingdom, for true.

That's why I skipped school entirely.

It's a good thing I didn't want to get technical. I'm not sure on the origins of the bug slang, but I'll Google it someday and report back to you.

Yeah, well, I kinda like school. When people aren't keeling over every few minutes, that is.

Doesn't hurt to have yourself checked out. Besides it gives you an excuse to see me!

You're sick? I'm sorry! It might not hurt to be on the safe side.

Yeah, probably. Especially since I don't know all of the symptoms of whatever it is everyone's getting.

If you catch it early it might head it off and you won't be out of it for too long.

Just don't cough on me, I can't afford to get sick right now. ;)

I'll get up early and visit the campus health center. Hopefully they won't be too packed.

Aw, and here I was going to suggest a make-out session. :D

You're not getting dizzy or confused, are you? Or vomiting? Do you have a fever!? Sado-kun's sick. He never gets sick. I'm worried.

Er, there might've been some vomit earlier. I thought it was just campus food. I'll have to make an appointment with the health center tomorrow morning.

Hope Sado feels better. That's the big guy from your party, right? He seems like he'll make it through something like this okay.

You should! People keep getting sick... It's not good...

He's so delirious, he can't figure out what language he's supposed to be speaking in! I asked him if he was alright, and he tried to tell me in Spanish and... I think it was French... and something else! He couldn't even remember to speak in English or Japanese so I could understand him!

It typically isn't. If it's particularly contagious, I'm going to have to talk to the Residential Life office about the possibility of a quarantine. At least, that's what it says in my RA handbook. That doesn't sound fun.

Oh wow... well, maybe he's just trying to impress you with all the languages he knows. Maybe?
