Gion Matsuri is one of Japan's biggest festivals. People actually travel from around Japan to see this. So the whole week it was packed with people in town... where our school is. Read more about the festival hereI really do love Japanese festivals... especially the night stall part of them, hehe. I love all the delicious food and candy you can buy ( Read more... )

Thanks, it was so much fun to wear it. But also slightly weary for the back, and walking was so slow, haha.
You definitely should! I recommend it. But Kyoto has alot to offer also when there are no festivals. I haven't even been to all of the biggest temples yet and I live here (!).

Thank you, that means alot coming from you! ;) But the truth is that we got some help with tying the obis from a chinese girl who lives here named Li. :P She worked in a shop where they had to wear yukata, so she's really awesome at it. Although I think I should be able to tie it myself now.
