Midsummer, Summer Cottage & Grill/Game-party!

Jul 10, 2009 02:48

Sooo, here are some updates from the last... month. I have been really bad at updating lately, so it's quite the huge load of photos in this update. I haven't been doing too much though, so only from three occassions.

My friend Jonas (the gentleman with the stunning orange "hat" there!) invited me over to celebrate Midsummer at his student corridor. Of all the people who came I only knew him, but it was sooo much fun!

We did some grilling first, but it was pretty cold outside after the sun went down so we moved indoors instead... and played some Munchkin Bites.

Yarr.

I don't look pleased, haha.

Playing kubb outdoors. A fine way to spend a summer evening night.

We were still playing games at 04:00 (around when this photo was taken). But this game proved a bit hard since your reflexes had to be quite sharp and mine weren't... haha. Notice the can named Whatever? that Jonas had left from a vacation to Cambodia? It tasted like water + sugar.

We have a summer cottage deep in the forest in Medelpad (it's about 500km from Umeå). This was my mother's parents' cottage, and Grandma doesn't have a car so we have to go there every now and then to look after the place. It is lovely though, especially this time of the year.

This is the path that leads down to the lake; Råsjö.

Me and my brother, Torkel spent a day swabbing the boat clean and then took it out for fishing one evening.

I tried to capture the beauty of the sunset as well as I could.

One of the fish we caught, about to become a filet (sorry vegans/vegetarians!).

Photo of my father, haha. There are so many biting bugs this time of the year that if you don't have a flyswatter you become like a living buffet or something. My legs looked horrible from all the mosquito bites I acquired.

Mom, Dad, Grandma.

Me.

Last weekend I invited some friends over for grilling and boardgames. I have a huge interest in board games and card games. It's great that some of my friends like it as well. The weather wasn't the best so we grilled everything outside then went indoors to eat.

This here stunning lady is my best friend, Åsa.

Another beautiful friend of mine; Mona. She is quite the talented singer/songwriter. We met through music (I played cello in her band) and summercamp leading. She is also married to another childhood friend of mine; Love. But he was preoccupied that weekend.

OM NOM NOM.

Not quite sure what I was doing in this picture. Synced with Mona though.

Playing Rappakalja. It's a game where you make up false explanations to words, movie titles, laws and person's names - trying to get as many of the other players to believe your answer is the correct one! American laws feature quite often on the cards, haha.

Playing Spank the Monkey, a game created by two Swedish guys.

So... that's the gist of it. I hope you enjoyed.

And I am still open for special summer commissions! Check out this entry for detailed information. :>
