Yeah, so I went to Östersund to visit Viktoria and to go to
Storsjöyran (which is a music festival) as I wrote in my last entry.
Took me a while to write about this, but here the entry finally is. WHAT?! I'm slow, that's just me.
BTW, Thank you guys for all the sweet compliments on my hair! <3
Wednesday:
I took the bus to Östersund from Umeå, and that is a 6 h ride, but not too expensive. So I'll be visiting her more, huhu. I took the bus really early though - 06:55... and that meant I had to get up at 05:30. Not really my ideal wake-up time. I slept alot on the bus however.
Viktoria met me at the station in Östersund, and I got all hyper just from seeing her. It had been so long. In Japan we saw each other almost every day. And the last weeks we shared an apartment (I slept under her bed). I'm just so happy that we are keeping in touch and are able to see each other sometimes.
We spent the first day at her parents house outside of Östersund. I have to say that it was alot of fun to get to see the place she has been talking about so much. And it was very nice and peaceful there.
Thursday:
The next day we moved into the room Viktoria's parents had gotten for us for the festival. That way we didn't have too far into town after concerts and partying!
This was umm... our dining drinking table. Mmm... booze. And pizzalicious dinner!
Headed into town after that to see some bands. Unfortunately they opened the gates a bit too late so the queue was still long when we tried to get in... which led to only being able to see the last three songs of Sahara Hotnights.
Apart from stages and food stands and what-not they also had a small amusement park within the festival area. This is where Viktoria and I headed to buy some ride tickets. Hee! We took one ride/night.
I wanted to see Sugarplum Fairy again, so we headed there afterwards. Great concert! This band does really nice live performances. Plus they are really cute. I managed to squeeze my way into the front row (through the rabid teenage fangirls) and got a great view.
Best part: there got less and less clothes on stage as the show progressed.
It started raining at the end of the show, and we had no umbrellas (they are banned within the festival area). So we ran for it, picked up our booze on the way that we had hidden in a bush, and hid under a school garage. Fortunately there was a bench there so we spent a while there until the rain dissipated.
Friday:
This was our big night, what we had been saving energy for or how to put it. Evening began with Viktoria's friend Anneli coming over and having a drink with us. Then we went into town again. We made it *just* in time for Bob Hund. Now this is a band I have been listening to since I was about 15-16 years old. So to finally be able to see them live... was, well undescribable. So much JOY. I managed to stand at the front row 2/3rds of the performance.
Best part: I got to grope Thomas' (the lead singer) thigh a litte when he was standing on the railing in front of me.
And after that we claimed some front row places on TV On The Radio. Man was that a good show or what? Viktoria introduced me to this band some months ago and I'm such a sucker for them now. I really recommend people to check this band out on YouTube or Spotify or what have you. They really rock at live performances too, it was so awesooome.
Best part: how the whole audience freaked out and started dancing manically at "Wolf Like Me".
We hung out a bit with Viktoria's brother Patrik in one of the "beer tents" aka portable pubs. Viktoria was wearing a wig this evening. Quite the stunning wig as well. I like it!
Also watched Mew a little. But they didn't play many of the songs I like. So meh...
Second ride this evening. We made a very bad choice unfortunately. This one left us all bruised. Seriously. I had quite a few bruises. I kept wishing it would end just after a few seconds. But it felt like it dragged on forever. And Viktoria's hat got blown off.
Except for this last part, with the lame ride, the evening was really great!
Saturday:
Viktoria's parents took us out for dinner at a restaurant this evening. That was really nice of them! The food was delicious as well.
After this we went to a party at Viktori's friend Julia's apartment. All girls, and alot of fun! I and Viktoria really tried to work up some buzz that night. But several glasses of wine, a couple of cider, and a whole Midori bottle later still nothing? That was just really lame, haha. We went into the festival area later and headed to our last ride. Which was alot of fun.
In the wagon that went round-round-round.
Afterwards. A really drunk guy who came up from behind us after this shot said it came out great! Haha. And then his friends apologized and dragged him away.
We watched the President's Speech. This might need some clarification. Jämtland which is a county in Sweden (or well technically in this case it refers to an area bigger than just the county) wants to be independent - their own republic. Sort of... maybe not so seriously. And they have their own president who holds a speech at the festival in Östersund each year. It was fun to watch anyhow!
Sunday:
Didn't do that much this day. We moved out of the rented room. We tried to find a place to eat langos, but it was sold out all over town. D: Then we bought lunch which wasn't very tasty at all. And I lost a sweatshirt that I really liked. In the evening I got to meet Viktoria's best friend; Maja. She offered us some blueberry pie and we went down to a lake near her house.
Viktoria found this miniscule frog.
After this great week, Viktoria came with me to Umeå for a few days.
We had originally planned to go to a new restaurant in town called Sagami. They serve Japanese food these, and their menu looked great. Buuut, they hadn't started with their full menu yet so we opted to not go this time. Instead we did some grilling at home.
We also went to see "The Hangover" which was aaawesome! Man, I laughed so hard. I'm totally buying it on DVD.
We went to town and did some shopping (window shopping in my case ^_~). Tried to find langos again only to learn that the langos stand had moved to the other side of town the day we were going to buy them. How is that for bad timing? Instead we had kebab and blueberry flavoured soft served ice cream.
We went to the sea one evening. I took Viktoria to the best beach around here that I know of. But we did no swimming, just looked at the view, walked around, felt the water, and took some pictures.
We had a movie night with Åsa, which was really cosy. But I can't for the life of me remember what we watched.
I did a small photomanip of some of the photos I took of Viktoria.
