Arbetsprover Konstfack 2010

Remember when I did this last year too? Yea, I tried this year as well. I really would like to get into this college.

I like how even I can tell that I have improved since last year. My application looks so much more professional now (though that is also partly because I could print on A3 paper at school).

Assignment #1: "Illustrate a timewarp into your childhood with a series of pictures with or without text. Can be presented as a booklet."
I chose to illustrate this with a series of pictures about how I and my room have changed through the years. Lines in ink by hand, flat colours in photoshop.

Assignment #2: "Create a fictional book publishing company and design a logo to apply on stationary, etc. Write your company's profile and make a list of the first 10 titles your company would publish."
I chose to make up a graphic novel/comic book company for this assignment. Designing the logo was alot of fun. :)

Assignment #3: "Make a cover spread for the first book your company would publish."
Really happy with how this came out... except for that I forgot to add the text on the book spine before printing (I had 10 minutes to print it and in the stress I forgot about it). It... really bugs me... there's a picture further down of how what it was supposed to be like.

Assignment #4: "Do a picture or a series of pictures of yourself as a famous person or character that you admire or despise, that has meant something to you or the world."
I chose to put myself in the place of Alice in Wonderland for this assignment. Because the books have done a huge impact on the artistic world, and they also meant alot to me growing up. This was supposed to be a series of 3-4 small illustrations but I only had time for one in the end. I think I'll still finish the rest of them.

Assignment #5: "Original artworks."

A huuge painting I have been working with at school. It's inbetween A2 and A3, lineart in indian ink with a nib pen, painted in watercolour ...some marker airbrush was also involved at the end. It is a personal painting and also a homage to Hans Arnold (I started this when we were doing a paraphrase painting workshop.

My prints that I made at school, and another school assignment on the theme "keys" that we were to do in ink techniques.

Details for some of them:

So yea, this is what I have been taring my hair out over the last few weeks, haha. Doesn't look like that much in the end, but it was alot of work... even just coming up with ideas for the assignments. But now it's all up to the people judging the applications.
