“What,” Jonghyun asked, with no particular inflection in his voice to make it seem like a question. Sayu was staring again. They were finally ‘home’ and in bed trying to sleep. He could feel her eyes on him, like usual. It was a sense he picked up early on in their little informational meetings and one that felt even more invading now that he could mostly tell what she was feeling. Interest? Hesitation?
Sayu cleared her throat a little before saying, “I like being close to you.”
“Human I am not having a feelings jam with you just before dawn,” he rolls away from her to attempt going to sleep. She breathes a chuckle and he can feel her breath hit his back. So she was staring, he knew it. He felt her move around a bit on the bed and then settle. Then he heard little clicks, taps on what he guessed was a keyboard. This might get annoying.
She continued anyway, “Would it be okay when I get tired if… I maybe didn’t sleep so far on this side of the bed?” Sayu’s finger tapped on her laptop. She convinced them to go get some of her things if she was going to be living with them. They didn’t live too far outside of Seoul but it was necessary to keep her out of it because of her visibility. The vampires weren’t even the biggest threat, she was well known with humans, too, and that could be an issue later.
Jonghyun grunted in response and she kept tapping on her computer, silent one second then furiously tapping the next. After about ten minutes, he decided this wasn’t going to work. He sat up and looked over at her glaring, she simply looked over at him from over top her laptop screen, eyebrows raised curiously. Like she couldn’t feel the impending annoyed outburst that had been building ever since they got there. Let’s not be too predictable then.
“If you stop your fucking around with your worthless internet buddies, I’ll surprise you.” She looked confused but she could feel his intentions were honest, he just wanted to sleep and she was keeping him up. So Sayu typed something quick and then closed her computer and set it on the table on her side of the bed, then looked back and waited for whatever surprise he had in store for her.
“Lay down,” he ordered her. She hesitated, but complied, still insatiably curious what he meant to do. She pulled the covers back and stretched her legs into them then waited again. Again, curiosity overflowing. His annoyance even ebbed away with this little display and he lay down facing her. Jonghyun reached his free arm over to her and pulled her closer into his chest, wrapping his arm over her waist. She grinned and rolled to her side so she fit into the shape he was making and she settled her pillow just below his.
He could feel her security, joy, leaking into him and he was somewhat satisfied with the outcome. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad. Now the next step is either sex or biting. He hoped for both.
