The Narada Remnants (Nero, Ayel)

Nero's eyes opened to darkness. Had he even opened them?

A heavy rattle in his lungs encouraged him to believe that yes, yes he had. He flexed his fingers, testing them one by one. He had all ten and both legs if his mind was not tricking him. It was deathly cold and his heart was sluggish in his side, pounding against the bone around it.

He let his head loll to the side and his eyes fixated on the distant flicker of forcefields. Green. His brow drew together as he forced his eyes to focus. He was alive? His memory returned to him in pieces, playing backward through time, and he slowly assembled now from them. His chest rattled again as his breath cut through it. He was alone.

With a heft, he freed himself from the debris around him, encapsulating him. His ribs screamed as he moved. Screens crunched underfoot, scattered glass and open, half-live wires littered grating. He frowned as he surveyed the blackness. Where were his crew? The rest of the ship?

Where was he?

narada, i'm on a ship
