As a side note, I also don't like the construction of the nipples. The hat is knit top down, casting on 8 stitches, which leaves a hole. The end of the pattern calls for knitting a separate little "twist" of 3 stitches, not even in an icord, but as a 1x1 rib for a few inches. Then you're supposed to pull the center of that "twist" through and sew it to the rest of the hat. I don't approve.

I've started and frogged 3 times because I don't like the way it looks. Not that I am a beret person at all, but I have the yarn left over from the Velma sweater, so I figured I might as well.
