Caffeine during genetics class always leads to pondering. Today my professor mentioned that DNA doesn't exist on its own for very long. If you put it in some saline solution and freeze it up for preservation, it will tend to degenerate in two months or so. But if you put DNA in a bacterial plasmid, it will exist for as long as that plasmid exists, ( Read more... )

i laughed out loud reading this, so delighted. i believe we are indeed information transportation and that makes me feel much better about everything although i know i am something of a subpar vessel.
