Beautiful. Now this is the way to teach children history.

Formal classes make it so factual and dull. I always hated it as a school subject. As an adult I look at it differently and do love to read about it.

What an interesting way to explain this. It really is a sad history of how awful humans can be... But can explain just how someone came to be.

I do hate that so much of the historical tapestry of this place was woven by the cruelty of man upon man, but, I do love the richness of beauty and culture that resulted from it.

I have to say that I wish this was fiction... but this is a wonderfully written piece that's a great read as well as educational. The history geek in my loves this. :-) Nicely done.
