+ HER EIGHTEENTH DECREE +

Jul 02, 2011 18:57

[The Queen of Hearts has been rather discontent in the last week or so. She had not been expecting to lose her mirrors in the chess match, and when the Queen loses everyone loses. At first she had allowed it, simply because she would not truly be losing or gaining anything - she would just be exchanging her old mirrors for new mirrors ( Read more... )

[Minato was more than relieved to be back home, having taken the first opportunity to leap through a mirror once he heard her message. How did she know? Some of them had been cruel, even before he had the chance to even be over there. But she was the Queen, she knew all and he was so glad for that.]

... It's... better on this side, Your Majesty. I like it here better, I really do...

[But it was still so confusing. It left him conflicted. It had been good in one way to be on that side, but so horrible in other ways. He liked to believe he was real, a few, kind others had told him so, but "real" in what sense?]

I am delighted to hear so, my dear Minato. Anywhere but there is the better place to be, and I would not be doing my job as Queen if I allowed you to remain in that dreadful place.

[Hearing her voice was so... comforting, even if he knew that she could do away with his existence in the blink of an eye.]

It... it really was hard being there. I like it here since here is home. T-thank you for thinking that I'm real either way that I am...

Now, now. There's no need for tears, Minato. You have returned to my side, and that is all that's important. There could never be a better home for you than this, and it pleases me to see you so overcome with relief upon returning.

You're behaving cowardly, Aka no joō.

I'm not finished here.

It is not cowardice; it is simply a correction. Perhaps you have the two confused. I would not blame you, being the mere Real Thing you are. They must be such difficult concepts for those who are inferior right to their cores.

Without us there are no mirror beings. I'd say we're superior in every way.

I will find you someday. And I will bite you to death.

I would say you're wrong, and it is my word that matters most in Wonderland, not yours. I suppose that settles that ridiculous matter.

You'll never manage it. Even if you found me, you would never manage to lay so much as a finger on me, and certainly never a tooth.

Or perhaps you should think twice before you open your mouth to say such rude and nasty things to royalty. ♥

You're only the Queen because your head is only one to fit that crown!

So you finally show yourself, Your Majesty. [Those words are just DRIPPING with hate.]

Perhaps it would not be an inconvenience for you to answer a question or two?

Actually, it would be a complete and total inconvenience for me, so it would depend entirely on what the questions were.

As if being brought here as a pawn was not a complete inconvenience for me?

Why are the residents transported to Wonderland in the first place?

[A smirk.] And why do you refuse to ever cross over to the real side? Hmmm? Could it be that you fear rebellion on the real side?

Yes, exactly as if that. You should have been honored.

Anyway, your questions are tedious, and I don't care to answer them. I will offer this though - I do not refuse to cross, I simply have no need to. You can still see a scar on the grounds from the last time I crossed if you care to look, from when I slayed the Jabberwock.

I have no reason to be on your side the glass, so I prefer not to dirty my feet there unless I am left without other options.
