Mark Meltzer's mirror doesn't set much stock by intuition. He'd claim to prefer cold, hard facts every time. But he known right away that something was wrong, missing, and when he'd checked the office across the hall, he'd known it wasn't just the darkened mirrors

Ryohei's curious about this message, but he responds that he'll be there and he is shortly, knocking at Mark's door.

"The door's open," he says. "Come in."

Ryohei enters, cautious but not overly so. He recognizes Mark's mirror after talking to the real one and looks at him expectantly.

"You called me?"

He's sitting at his desk, fingers steepled in front of him. As the other mirror approaches, he produces a notebook from an inner pocket and slides it across the desk.

"I did. Have a seat."
