This past Saturday afternoon, a man called to say a mother mallard duck had been killed by a cat while she was sitting on her nest. He was livid. I love ducks. And I love you guys for saving these. Go, ducklings!

There's a mama duck that hatches her bunch in a bush outside my husband's work door. It's butt-up against the park, and they feed her all kinds of break-room crud, which is probably why she comes back year after year.

I love ducks, too. They're so full of joy and easily satisified. Watching them swim is like zoning in front of an aquarium. You can just feel the stress drain away.

It warms my heart that your husband's work place lets the mama duck stay and even gives her a helping hand. Yay to them! They rock :)

You should have seen our faces when the first one hatched. And then another, and another, and...OMG, honey, go get the camera! lol. That mama duck would have had her work cut out for her.

I am sure mama duck is very happy that someone else is nice enough to bring her babies into the world. I can imagine how exciting that must have been for you guys :0)
