Wow! That's amazing. You and I live in such different worlds. But we're both writers, and I love it that so many different ways of life can be lived by a writer.

I love your photographs. It never would have occurred to me that a turkey could be as beautiful as a peacock.

A face peering in would be disconcerting, no matter the species. I love my varmints, but I also hate how the wild critters have to be so much more furtive now. Even Cooper the hawk keeps a far distance these days, although maybe not so much out of fear as because there's no prey in my yard any more.

Poor little preys.

Yay! We also have peacocks strutting in the backyard. They are noisy creatures. You can hear them land on the roof with a thud. Then they scream out: "kee-haw!" like sequined pterodactyls.

Sequined pterodactyl. I love that! What a perfect description :)

Our guy has moved on now. I think the local storms took a toll, because he tucked himself into our basement window well and slept for almost one whole day. He was more active the second day, and by the third, he was on the strut again. The next morning, he was gone. Still, it was nice to have him here even for such a short time. It would be awesome to be able to see them all the time :)
