Yes, wild turkeys :) There were ten of them, but only eight fit into the frame of the picture :) They first showed up here in late July or so, three adults and seven little chicks. They would come to the feeders twice a day, stuff themselves with seed, then saunter back off into the woods for the night. The last time they came around was right after Tropical Storm Lee, which was when we took this photo. We think they've moved on to their normal fall range now. Too bad, because we so enjoyed watching them!
We were forced to refill more often once they arrived. lol. They were such a hoot. We especially liked watching them chase the crows. The crows would land on the bandbath nearby, or dare to peck seed within their personal space, and the adults would charge them over and over again and chase them away. Right before they moved on, the littles (no longer so little by then,) were chasing them, too. Too funny!
