MUSIC and LYRICS Yoona woke up lazily, rolling over with her back on the soft mattress. She stared at the ceiling for a few good minutes. She heard bells and children happily singing outside her apartment window. She smiled and closed her eyes. It was one of her favourite days, Christmas Eve.
She slowly opened her eyes, still smiling. She got up and was about to shower when she remembered she threw her towel to the laundry basket last night and so she opened her closet to get a new one. She pulled a pink and white striped towel and was about to close the closet door when a diary fell on her foot. She yelped in pain but picked up the diary.
She wiped the dust covering the little book and settled at the edge of her bed. She opened to the first page and a curve was starting to form on her lips.
”Yah! Im Yoona! Give it back!” A tall girl was chasing Yoona down the hallway of their high school.
“Hahaha.” Yoona broke into her infamous alligator laugh before stopping in front of a room and vanished in a second.
“Yah!” The tall girl was panting but was starting to pound the closed door where Yoona locked herself. “Open this door now!”
“Dear Diary,” Yoona said loudly behind the closed door which made the girl stopped knocking.
“It was a bright sunny day, blah blah blah.” Yoona continued. “I saw this beautiful girl walking down, oh wait, it’s only Yoona. Hahahaha.”
The tall girl who was in the other side of the door started to panic.
“Yoona please.” She begged.
“She is so beautiful but why was she gifted with that alligator laugh? It’s cute but kinda annoying.” Yoona then paused. “HOW DARE YOU FIND MY ALLIGATOR LAUGH ANNOYING?!”
Yoona banged the door with her fist which made the other girl jumped.
“Oh come on! Give it back!” She continued to whine.
“This entry is boring, let’s move on to the next page.” Yoona ignored her.
“Dear Diary, the school dance is just around the corner and I still don’t know what to do. I want to ask Yoona but I’m afraid she’ll reject me. We only knew each other since middle school and we’re not even that close. Wouldn’t you think it’ll be weird to ask her to the dance?”
The girl just let out a long sigh, with her forehead resting on the door. She was helpless. The more Yoona turned over the next page the more revelation about her feelings to the younger girl will be read.
“Dear Diary,” Yoona was still reading loudly. “I saw Yoona in the ice cream shop across the school with Khun. I heard they’re dating. I want to punch myself for being slow and not confessing to her first. All I can do is watch them feed each other ice cream and walk away. I’ll stitch my broken heart tonight after dinner.”
The girl closed her eyes as memories of the said event played on her head again. Yoona kept reading each entry and all the girl could do is cry at the other end of the door.
Yoona was about to read more when she heard soft sobs. She felt guilty and thought she just pushed the limit. She turned the doorknob open and a crying Yuri was revealed. Yoona pulled Yuri inside the room and locked it again. She hugged the older girl and tried to whisper sweet words to calm her down.
“I’m sorry Yuri.”
Yuri pushed her away.
“Did you have fun?” She snatched the diary from Yoona’s hand quickly. “Did you enjoy everything you read?”
“Yuri I - “
“Just leave me alone.” Yuri walked pass Yoona but the younger girl was quick to pull her back to a hug.
“I’m sorry Yuri.” She wasn’t letting go of her. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
Yuri remained silent.
“I was just too excited and happy from all those things you wrote.”
Yuri pulled away and gave Yoona a confused look. “You’re not angry?”
“Why would I be?” Yoona chuckled.
“Because you just read everything about how I feel about you since day one of our high school.”
“So?” Yoona smiled.
“Why are you smiling like that?”
“Yuri, what if I tell you my feelings for you since day one too? It would be fair since I just knew everything right?”
Yuri raised an eyebrow. She didn’t know what Yoona had meant but her heart was beating with a ridiculous speed.
“Or better yet, let me show you my feelings Yuri-ah.”
Yuri couldn’t say any more as she felt lips on hers. She closed her eyes and thought maybe this was just a dream. But Yoona wrapped her arms around her neck pulling her for a deeper and more passionate kiss. All Yuri could do is put her hands on the other girl’s waist and let their tongues dance inside as soon as Yoona granted her access.
Yoona smiled at the memory.
“Aish! Kwon Yuri if I didn’t steal your diary, I would never know you felt the same way about me.” Yoona shook her head while smiling as she placed the diary on her bedside table.
-----
“Yes. I’ll be right there Sooyoung.” Yoona grabbed her house keys from the counter after ending the call.
She rushed out to the busy street of Seoul, putting on her hoodie, a cap and her coat over her head. Snow wasn’t falling that hard but it was still as cold as the North Pole. She walked her way to Sooyoung’s café which was four blocks from her apartment.
She passed by the park and couldn’t help but to stop and smile again.
”Why are you taking me here Kwon Yul?”
Yoona was still asleep when she was kidnapped by Yuri in the middle of the night to a park.
“Shhhh.” Yuri hushed her. “You’re quite heavy for a skinny girl like you, you know that?”
“Ugh! Yuri I want to go back to my bed.” She muffled on the back of Yuri’s neck.
Yuri halted and adjusted Yoona who she was carrying on her back.
They finally arrived at their destination. Yuri slowly put the half-asleep Yoona down to the blanket she prepared earlier before the kidnapping. The summer night was filled with stars which shone above the couple.
“Yuri.” Yoona was about to doze off when Yuri sat behind her and caught her falling head with her shoulder.
She wrapped her arms around the sleeping girl and sang softly to her ear.
“Yoong.” She whispered.
There was no answer. Yuri just smiled and continued. “I brought you here because I wanted to watch the meteor shower together with you.”
She hugged the younger girl tighter as cold air passed by.
“I guess you’re too tired. I’m sorry for dragging you out here.” She rested her chin on Yoona’s shoulder.
A few minutes have passed, Yuri saw a falling star.
“Just a falling star? No meteor shower?” She asked, more to herself since she knew she won’t get any response from her girlfriend.
“Okay, let’s make wish Kwon Yuri.” She continued talking to herself as she looked at the sleeping girl on her arms lovingly and smiled.
“I wish we’ll stay together forever Yoong. Just you and me, falling in love with each other everyday for the rest of our lives.” She whispered to Yoona before giving the girl a kiss on the forehead.
Yuri returned her attention to the night sky, oblivious to the smile formed on Yoona’s sleeping face. Within a few seconds, the sky was brightened with the meteor shower. Yuri squealed silently, it was the first time she witnessed it.
“Yoong.” She said not looking down on her girlfriend. “It’s so beautiful.”
Yoona had already opened her eyes after Yuri kissed her. “It is beautiful Yul, but not that beautiful as our love.” She thought before closing her eyes again.
“And she thought I was asleep the whole time.” Yoona shook her head for the second time that day and continued walking.
-----
“Okay try this.” Sooyoung spoon-fed Yoona her new flavored ice cream.
“Mmmmm. Tastes like real chocolate. So what flavor is this?”
“CHOCOSHIKSHIN!” Sooyoung beamed happily.
“Unnie I pity your customers, they have to deal with your weird food names.” Seohyun said beside Yoona.
“Whatever. I’m going back to the kitchen before Tiffany burns down my café.” Sooyoung stood up.
“Why did she even let that American girl work for her?” Yoona sighed.
“We all know Sooyoung unnie has a crush on Tiffany unnie ever since before right?” Seohyun asked.
“That was in high school Seohyun.”
“That’s right. High school. Just like you and my sister.” Seohyun smiled then stood up. “I’m going to see Kyuhyun oppa now. Merry Christmas unnie!”
“You guys take care. Merry Christmas to you too maknae.” Yoona also stood up to give a hug to the younger girl.
After bidding goodbye to Seohyun, Yoona sat down again and stared at the melted ice cream in the bowl.
”Spring break!”
“Are you excited?” Yuri leaned against the door frame watching Yoona unpack her luggage.
“Yes.” She ran towards Yuri and wrapped her arms around her.
“Whoah!”
“Yul, let’s go visit our high school.”
“Eh? Why?”
“I just missed it.”
“Uhh, okay.”
Yoona and Yuri walked hand in hand until they were in front of their old high school.
“Memories.”
“Memories.” Yuri repeated.
“Hey Yul, look! The ice cream shop that I used to hang out after school is still open!” Yoona pointed.
“Yeah.”
“Come on, let’s go eat ice cream.” Yoona tugged Yuri but the latter didn’t move. “What’s wrong?”
“I don’t want to go there.”
“Huh?” Yoona was confused.
“I don’t want to go there. It was where you and Khun dated.”
Yoona paused for a while, trying to understand her girlfriend. It took her a few seconds to realize what Yuri meant. She broke into her alligator laugh which startled Yuri.
“Yah! Why are you laughing?”
“You’re jealous of my past?”
“Uhm…” Yuri looked down, trying to hide her flushed face. “Whatever, I just don’t want to go there.”
Yoona held her girlfriend’s hands and squeezed it gently before leaning over to whisper. “Khun wasn’t my boyfriend, silly. I just asked him to help me make you jealous.”
Yuri raised her head upon hearing that and was about to scold Yoona on how she was keeping the secret for so long now until she was caught off guard with a pair of cold wet lips on hers, just like the first time they kissed in that room where Yoona stole her diary.
“Silly Kwon Yuri.” Yoona muttered to herself. “So she really was jealous with Khun.” Yoona smirked of the thought.

The snow is falling, the city is white.
It was two hours until Christmas, Yoona was strolling around the busy streets of Seoul. She stopped to admire the gigantic Christmas tree in front of a mall. She could see some kids playing with the snow near it. She smiled at the scene before walking again.
Your eyes are shining like diamonds tonight.
Yuri had been following the doe-eyed girl ever since she left Sooyoung’s café. She saw everything Yoona did for the past hour and couldn’t help but to smile. She could see how Yoona's eyes sparkled. She wanted to give the younger one a back hug the moment she stopped and stared at the Christmas tree, but Yuri held a little longer until she saw the kids having a snowball fight. She chuckled to herself as an idea ran in her mind.
Yoona only took three steps when she felt something cold at the back of her neck. She stopped and there was another attack. She turned around only to get hit again on the face. She groaned in frustrations when she saw the kids laughing at her.
“Oh you think that was funny huh?” Yoona bent down to grab a bunch of snow and shaped it into a ball with her hands. She got hit again by the time she curved up her snowball. She looked up, ready to attack the kids but she was left speechless when she saw no signs of the children, instead a familiar figure stood a few meters from her.
“It’s rude to pick a fight with children Yoong, don’t you know that?” Yuri smirked then threw another snowball at her.
Yoona docked in time. “KWON YURI YOU ARE SO DEAD!” She dropped her snowball and ran to Yuri. She tackled her down to a pile of snow.
And we’re all alone, there’s no one home. You’re finally in my arms again.
Yuri just laughed and hugged the girl on top of her. They were in their own world as they stayed still on the snow-covered pavement, hugging each other. They didn’t mind the looks people gave them as they passed by the couple.
“Missed me Yoong?” She asked, brushing off Yoona’s hair which was covering her face.
“Yul, I thought you were working tonight?” Yoona whispered.
“I begged Jessica to let me off early.” Yuri lied, in fact she didn’t go to work. She spent the whole day working with something else, for Yoona.
“Come on Yoong, I’m going to show you something.”
They brushed off the snow from each others clothes. Yuri suddenly grabbed Yoona’s hand and started running. The next thing Yoona knew was that they were in front of their old high school.
“What are we doing here Yul?” She asked, panting heavily form the running.
“You’ll find out soon. Come on.” Yuri climbed the gates with experience and Yoona followed suit.
The night is silent and Christmas is here. I could not ask for more than having you near.
“Yul, it’s dark.” Yoona tightened her grip on her girlfriend’s hand.
“I’m here Yoong.” She assured the younger. “We’re almost there.”
Yoona just let Yuri guide her in the dimlight hallway until they stopped in a familiar room.
“Yul this is - “
Yuri opened the door and before Yoona could finish her words, bright candles that were scattered on the floor surprised here. Yuri heard her gasped before pulling her inside.
“Come.”
Yoona was still lost for words as she felt her cheeks were blushing. In the middle of the room were two cushioned soft pillows and a small table with some salad and fruits.
“Sit.” Yuri instructed softly.
Cause I love you girl, I always will. And now I know the moment is right.
Yoona sat down, still in shock and wordless. Yuri sat across from her and they just stared at each other for a while.
“Uhm, was this too much?” Yuri asked nervously.
“No.” Yoona shook her head. “This is amazing Yuri.”
Yuri let out a sigh. She was so afraid Yoona might not like what she had prepared for them for Christmas Eve. She was even more afraid of what she will do next.
“Glad you like it.” Yuri got up and went beside Yoona, kneeling.
The younger girl just stayed still, watching cautiously what Yuri was trying to do next. Yuri checked her watch first, it was almost midnight, almost Christmas.
Cause I’ve been waiting to give this gift tonight. I’m down on my knees, there’s no better time.
“Yoona.” Yuri started in a shaky voice as she reached for something behind her back pocket. She pulled out a tiny velvet box and opened it slowly. “Im Yoona, will you marry me?”
It’s something to last for as long as you live. Tonight I’m going to give you, all my heart can give.
Yoona held her breath. She wasn’t expecting Yuri’s proposal to be this soon but she wasn’t going to let this pass either. A tear fell from her eye as she couldn’t express how happy she was. She nodded as she held out her right hand.
“Yes.” She answered as she couldn’t hold her tears any longer. “I’ll marry you Kwon Yuri.”
Yuri put the ring on Yoona's finger gently. It fit perfectly and they both smiled.
“I love you Yoong.” Yuri whispered.
“Yul, remember what you wished when you saw that falling star?”
Yuri stared at her for a few moments, trying to remember.
“I’m granting you that wish Yul. We’ll stay together forever. Just you and me, falling in love with each other everyday for the rest of our lives.” Yoona smiled.
“You heard that?”
“Yes and I wouldn’t forget that night.”
Yuri kissed the finger where she placed the ring then she stared lovingly at her before leaning over for a kiss on the latter’s lips.
“I love you Kwon Yuri. Thank you for this gift.” Yoona whispered as she closed the gap and kissed Yuri romantically.
