Summary: Batclan vs. Superclan.
Bruce watched contentedly as he sat with Clark, watching their sons and daughters- all of them- play. It was the Batclan against the Superclan, and it was an all out snowball. Even Barbara was participating, hovering near the fight and alerting her clan to sneak attacks and the like. The Superclan was out numbered, three to one, until various members defected to their partner’s side.
And then the battle was even, with Dick, Barbara, Cassandra, and Damien against Tim, Connor, Kara and Stephanie. Outraged cries of “Traitor!” rang across the yard, as what was left of the Batclan fought with furious good humor, as the Super-Batclan made a comeback. In the end, everyone was soaking wet, and everyone cowered under the disapproving glare Alfred gave them as they stumbled into the manor, wet and laughing uproariously.
Bruce smiled as they were lectured, and Clark whispered,
“Penny for your thoughts?” Bruce leaned into Clark’s embrace, and whispered back,
“It’s gonna take more than a penny to buy my mind, Clark. But because you asked so nicely... I was thinking of the last time we were all together at the Manor. They had a snowball fight then, and we played them like match-making aunts.”
“I remember. They finally proposed that day.”
“The entire lot of them.”
“The only ones not engaged are Cassandra and Damien.”
“Think they’re next?”
“Who knows?”
“If they are, they’ll get what the others got.”
“You mean the Bat-glare.”
“And the Superman-smile.”
“And our blessings all at once.” Bruce shifted to give Clark a chaste kiss before slipping out of his arms,
“Were you surprised?” Bruce asked as he walked away.
“Me? I knew about Kon and Tim, and Steph and Kara. Didn’t know about Barbara and Dick though. It was a pleasant surprise,” murmured Clark as he followed Bruce into the living room, where they met with their family talking over cocoa.
Kon and Tim were sitting together on the loveseat sharing a blanket while Kara and Stephanie were sprawled on the long couch, legs entangled and shamelessly cuddling. Dick sat in the armchair next to Barbara, a towel around his shoulders as he tried to escape Barbara’s inscessant attempts to dry his hair. Cassandra and Damien were on the floor, sitting on a bunch of blankets and towels, play wrestling while their family placed their bets on who would win.
Bruce cleared his throat, and there was silence as everyone stilled. He surveyed the room, taking in the couples sitting happily, and the two on the floor. Bruce smiled blithely, and announced,
“Next time you all have a snowball fight, we’re in. And winner chooses the next vacation spot.”
It was war the very next day.
