Usagisan? It's misaki.

If you started a day or so ago we'll probably run into each other sometime tomorrow.

[Misaki smiles cheerfully. He would need to buy a ribbon when they got to Violet to tie around the teddybear Pokemon's neck--it would really match the Suzuki-san they had at home.]

Yeah, let's go. You can ask me any questions you have about this place along the way.

This place, huh. [He opens his handbook with his free hand, flipping through it idly.] I've got an idea of how this world functions, Pokémon training and everything. I've met an angel and someone from China, probably a few decades before our time, so I've gotten the idea that time and space are ridiculous here.. [And he lists off a bit more pointless stuff.]

--Is there anybody else we know, here?

[An Angel and someone from China? Maybe someone claiming TO BE China, if Misaki guessed right. The people here...]

Th-that's pretty much the gist of it. The manual doesn't mention some things, like how weird shit happens from time to time, like stuff out of nightmares, apparently. And it's not quite how the game used to play, but the basics are there.

[Misaki hefts Suzuki-san into an easier to carry position and continues walking along with Usami.]

Anyone else? Not that I've seen. I was alone until you came along... Oh! But I've made friends here, so I haven't been lonely or anything.

Nightmares? .....I wonder if anything will happen anytime soon.. [Don't jinx it, Usami.]

Well, I'm glad to hear you weren't lonely.. what kind of people have you met? [Nobody else, huh. That meant there was no Takahiro or Hiroki. Hm...]

Uuugh, I hope not. Christmas is the next big holiday coming, right? I would rather it be a fun time. No murder mysteries or anything. [He looks dead serious about this. Though thinking of Christmas reminds him of Christmas Eve and... better not to consider the lover's holiday with Usami so close to him.]

I've made friends with a lot of people. There's Cocona-chan, whom you've met. Ah, also, Tamaki-san and Kanji-kun. They're highschoolers but they're both nice and cool in their own way. And Hong Kong-san. He can be... kind of weird.

There's also Kisa-chan, Miles-kun, Rika-chan. They're all kids, but have been great company. And also... [He's happy to ramble on about all his dear friends. They made this world so bearable when he grew homesick. His enthusiasm may be a little much, though.]

[Usami does look a bit.. irked by the thought that Misaki was associated with so many others, but.really. This is a strange world full of strangers, and he was more relieved that Misaki hadn't been completely on his own in a potentially dangerous place.

He just keeps listening to Misaki's happy rambling.]

[He continues on about his friends, completely oblivious to Usami's irritation.]

...and of course there's the Pokemon too. I have four! Sunkern was my first, and then I have Furret, Beedrill and Flaaffy. They all make good friends, so even when I was traveling on my own I had them around.

We should probably get you some more Pokemon, too.

It sounds like a pain, so we'll have to see about that. [He scratches the back of his head, appearing to be thinking about something.]

[Misaki frowns. What sort of attitude is that?]

Hey! Raising Pokemon and earning badges might be the only way to get us home you know!

[He sees that thoughtful movement but he doesn't feel like asking just yet.]

There might also be other ways as well, Misaki. Animal fighting was illegal back home, and I'm sticking to it, so I'll find search for other ways home.

They aren't 'animals' Usagi-san. They're Pokemon. Pokemon!

[He's very serious about this.]

Just because they're named differently doesn't mean we can just pit them against each other like it's entertainment. [He's serious too.]

You obviously don't understand the rules to this game. [He sighs.]

Look, they like battling with one another. It's not slavery or abuse if they want to.

I never played the game, so of course I wouldn't know.

...Besides, look at this. [He hoists up Mr. Suzuki and pokes his cheek.]

He's clearly different from those pixellated things on the game screens, isn't he? I don't think he's going to turn out to just be a mass of code that's programmed to like battling just because he's a Pokémon...

[Misaki knows he shouldn't blame him. Usami grew up much differently than regular kids but still...

He relinquishes Suzuki-san to its owner without resistance. He misses holding that bear, though.]

W-well, I could see how you would have trouble wanting to put Suzuki-san in danger. But that's no excuse to keep yourself from training. It's just dangerous to be unprepared.

[Misaki reaches for one of his Pokeballs and presses the button to release Sunkern. She hops merrily onto her Trainer's shoulder, chirping happily.] I can handle the main battling if you want. My Pokemon don't mind.
