If Belca had known his and Orcelito's stupid curiosity and escapade would get both of them into life-threatening danger and involved in a national fiasco, he would have told his brother that the Amontel could very well save themselves, and it wasn't their concern anyway. Of course, he can't do that now. Not after what's been through. Not after realizing that the Hokulea are actually more humanlike than he'd thought. (Much more humanlike -- almost as if -- )
Well, he likes to dream, though.
Everything really started with Hector; so if Hector hadn't announced his idiotic intentions to recognize the Amontel as human, he wouldn't be dead. He's probably be king. That was something nice to think about. Belca distances himself from Orcelito and Musca because he's not like them, and he can; but with Hector, it's impossible to avoid him. And it's hard to avoid Orcelito and Musca when Hector drags him to them. So maybe they'd be like a real family then. Maybe.
Belca would probably join the army. Do something with his weapon skills. They might clash with some Hoku -- Amontel, even. He might even fight against Shingetsu, though he wouldn't know her. Orcelito would still be the next in line, becoming more and more like Hector each day. And Musca -- well, she'd be off doing her own thing. She'd probably still hate him, too. It used to be like that.
Still, if Hector hadn't died and Belca and Orcelito had remained ignorant, there'd still be a problem with Lagen and the kingdom. And the Amontel because -- they are? they aren't? human -- and he wouldn't have met Eco, or Linna, and Seamus would have resigned and Musca would have still remained a brat. The Duke still would be experimenting on all of those Amontel -- and that's just a sick thought. It's horrible, repulsing, sick sick sick. Most of all, Belca would still be the rash, resentful kid he was back then.
It's a dreary thought, but Belca supposes that if he had the chance to change the past, he wouldn't.
