I had a terrific day at work, I was so happy to have a job again. I come home and there are flames around our house, forming a C. I race inside, call 911, and turn on the hose that has a leak. I dose some of the flames, ignoring the dogs and happy the wind is blowing away from the house. The fire dept gets here and doses the fire ( Read more... )

I know. The wind here, however, is changing directions constantly. I'm worried.

It's a trailer, so the fire was technically around one end and the wind has been changing every few minutes. I'm worried. My neighbor wonders if a passing car tossed a cigarette and the fire swept through the underbrush. It stopped where I mow the lawn, where the grass is short.

I'm so happy that you, Elz, the house and the furbabies are all safe. Is there a trail, like maybe where a cigarette hit the side of the road and burned? Or is it looking pretty well defined with no specific point of origin?

If someone were going to set it purposefully, with the intention of buring down the house, they would have probably started at the house or propane tank.

I don't think it was deliberate, but I do think it was stupidity.
