Accidents that looks like they may have seriously injured someone

I've always wondered about that one...they show clips of a person getting half their brains knocked out, and then they pan into the audience, zeroing in on people with their heads thrown back, in exaggerated hysterics. Says a lot for our society, methinks :-/
