So my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. She's ok, but apparently having a mother with breast cancer means that I must have a mammogram. I'm okay with this, since my sister has already had some benign lumps removed. She's ok, too. As for me, I'd rather not take the chance and wait two more years, you know? That's awesome. It's been so long since I went to the doctor, I'm ashamed to say, that I noticed a definite change in the way they treat women. It was amazing!

Yay for healthy boobies!

I got my first mammogram at 35 due to various risk factors. Won't need another one till 40.

I didn't find it all that excruciating...or humiliating, or embarassing.

People who get all het up over strangers seeing & touching their bodies for professional reasons are kind of silly.

It did only hurt for a little bit, but it hurt enough during that time to make me happy they were quick. I have a freakishly high tolerance for pain and touch everywhere but there.

The pain really wasn't _that_ bad, and it only lasted a few seconds. If I had to stand there for an ten minutes, though, I might have second thoughts.

What day is 10/3? I'd love to attend an opening! ZH is working days now, so he could probably come, too. We were there yesterday. I saw Margi. Everyone else is a stranger. I saw Margi and Dan when I was there last week with the in-laws. I really do miss telling people how much they are going to love our museum. I gave my in-laws a nice tour. :)
