I think that would be an excellent symbol and reminder for you. I've lost two babies and am also trying to find the perfect tattoo to get in rememberance, as you stated there are a lot of different options and I do not want to get something that will need so much explanation nor something that's so common it won't have meaning. Good luck to you and your significant other in dealing with this sad sitation. Sorry for your loss.

I miscarried triplets, and in the weeks following, got a roman numeral three on my left forearm. People always ask me what it means and I always answer honestly. It makes some people uncomfortable, but I want to destroy the taboo around talking about miscarriage.

i love that you are trying to destroy the taboo around it and totally want to help you! i know i have spoken openly about and made people uncomfortable but i feel like i shouldn't be embarrassed or have anything to hide and its part of my story now.

Good for you for talking frankly to people about your miscarriage. It's too big of a loss for women to keep hiding.

It's beautiful! People might know it means something special, because it's a heart combined with an infinity, but either way it's beautiful.

love it!

my baby's due date was feb.12,2011. so, instead of giving birth, i got a small violet (looked up the "birth month flower" and apparently it was either an iris or a violet- i went with violet) on my shoulder blade. i plan on adding my, my husband's, and our future children's flowers to it.

I love that idea, there was so much confusion about how far along i was (i believe the baby stopped developing at 5 weeks) that i wasn't sure if i would've been due in February or March because i thought of going that route. my bday is actually in Feb also so the violet is perfect, and i love the idea of adding your future children to it, almost makes me want to rethink my idea and do something clever like that since i still haven't gotten the tat. I decided i will wait, and its going to be a long wait, but i don't want the ink in my system while i am ttc... not after last time! sometimes i think if i find out i'm pg again i will just want to live in a bubble for 9 months!
