I'm sorry for your loss. I had a chemical pregnancy in December of '09, so I looked a lot of stuff up after that. I think it doesn't effect your chances at getting pregnant at all, and it doesn't increase your chances of having another chemical pregnancy or miscarriage in the future either. I mean, maybe if you had a number of them, but one is not an indicator of anything from what I recall ( ... )

I've only had one 'chemcial pregnancy' (i.e. pre 6w miscarriage), however I have had several post-6 weeks miscarriages. After my second such miscarriage I got pregnant the next full cycle (i.e. the cycle after I got my period back) and the result is going to be five this December :)

I had a miscarriage at 15 weeks in September of 08. I had a chemical pregnancy in January of 2009 and got pregnant the following month and carried to term.

That's so good to know, I hear a lot of that type of story, so I'm really hoping that this might be our month (July) and we will get our sticky baby this time. Although I'm not going to start testing this time until I have missed a period to avoid the disappoint and despair of having another chemical pregnancy. I started testing at about 6DPO last cycle and got my first positive at 8DPo, thing is it never really got much darker, I should have seen that as a sign of a chemical pregnancy but I really wanted that baby, so I just kept blinders up, basically. Thank you for sharing your story.

I think all miscarriages are hard but my chemical pregnancy was less difficult for me emotionally. I saw it as something most likely being wrong with the baby and nature handling it so to speak. I don't test until after a missed period either...save myself the heartbreak!

i'm sorry you're dealing with this. we've had 3 losses over the years (missed m/c, ectopic and a chemical), and our 2-year old was conceived 2 months following the chemical pregnancy. with that pregnancy, we waited until 18DPO, i think, to start betas. getting the bill for our part of the betas for the chemical was cruel, so we decided to wait it out a bit. that time around (with the pregnancy that led to a take home baby), HPTs were getting progressively darker, which did not happen with the chemical or the ectopic, so we were hopeful it signalled a better outcome. good luck; i hope you have good news soon.
