This morning I rode by bike downtown to pick up film for my Holga and Lomolitos, and I realized that just the film itself is really expensive. This could be because I bought a 36 exposure roll of 400 ASA Kodak slide film ( Read more... )

BUT maybe they were just out of stock? They didn't have any Animal Collective either, so that kind of ruined everything for me.

I was dissappointed with Amoeba's selection when I went to visit. It was a lot of poppy punk and it wasn't as eclectic as I'd expected it to be.

I hope you like short scifi-ish/dystopia/utopia-NISTIC stories and grainy 35mm film (I suggest you use it when trying out a new camera or something.. I've only used it once and I was satisfied, but I don't know if you would be)

Oh, yeah, I've used it before, and I was relatively impressed with the effects, except I also cross-processed it while having the option to do standard processing. Have you tried both with slide film?

shitty film and a shitty book (but not really in my opinion) What film was it? I've got 50 ASA ektachrome in my fridge that I wanted to use with my Holga. I just did a film trade for it though so I couldn't be too picky and I'm afraid most of the roll is going to be underexposed

That's sort of what I thought when I read that! But then I started thinking about how I'd describe my photos that got cross-processed, and that's when it all went wrong.

I had 100 ASA Kodak Professional Ultra Color film, and I've never even seen 50 ASA film! What's a film trade?
