It sounds stupid, but to trust someone in that situation you have to look at the eyes. How they carry themselves. What kind of backstory they give. Don't just go out on a limb for people every time, but don't distrust all of humanity either. You'll find with small scores like that (40 bucks) the people/kids arent "con artist" enough to really pull off the facade. Just have to really watch the eyes.

Sorry that happened to you though. I personally think it's a given that there are more people like that than there are people like you. Don't lose faith in humanity, but rather challenge the system that corrupts and bases its entire system around money. I hope you understand that if you become jaded because of what just happened, you will only fuel the cycle of distrustful people, and people like your formal self who needed to get home might just be out of luck next time around. Be more cunning and weed out the asshats.

Actually that last post was about most of my friends, I'm not having any problems lately = ) *knocks on wood*

mom said "Of COURSE he can stay over at our house, I dont dislike the boy, i just think he has some growing up to do." typical mom. anyways you have a room and a bed to come down and stay in.
