Going Back to England: Fourth Trip To England [Day 02]

Jul 28, 2011 13:02

I went to go see where my gate was, and after the estimated time of announcing the gate passed, I decided to go and ask someone at the information desk. When they told me I went to my gate, glad that it wasn't packed as I really just wanted to sit down. I tried my phone just to see if maybe it would work, but it didn't so I was sat there trying to stay awake. I was feeling pretty dehydrated by this point as I always do after all that traveling and just ready to see my English dad! The woman I sat next to on the plane, (we had the middle seat empty on this one as well!) was the sweetest woman ever! She was traveling back all the way from Australia after visiting her family, so I really can't complain about how tired I am! We landed just on time and I got my luggage pretty darn quick! I had to wait a bit for George because unsuprisingly he ran into traffic, but given the time of day it wasn't too surprising! I wasn't really feeling hungry by this point so we just planned on going back to the house. On the way back I called Nic and spoke to her for a little bit before calling my mom (even though it was like 5 in the morning EST)to let her know I had gotten there ok. As we got closer to Nic's house I suddenly had a hankering for a chip butty so we headed over to this place where Nic and her dad usually get their fish and chips. The weather was gorgeous and when the woman at the fish and chip shop found out where I was from, she thanked me for bringing the nice weather with me! LMAO!

When we got back home I only managed to eat a tiny bit of the chip butty, it's so not easy to eat after traveling for so damn long! I almost forgot that Nic had gotten rats (like two days after I left on my previous trip) so I headed upstairs to see them. They were both a little hesitant and I didn't want to scare them so I decided to wait until Nic got home from work. I was feeling so damn tired by this point that I took an hour nap (I set the alarm so I didn't sleep too long). It took me a few minutes to settle down but I was soon out like a damn light! When I got up I was still feeling really groggy so decided to take a shower. Which felt sooooo nice! But a good chunk of my conditioner had leaked out in my suitcase. Thankfully I had wrapped all my liquids in plastic bags so it didn't make a huge mess! After I was all cleaned up I called my family again (It was around 7ish by then) and spoke to my dad for a bit! :D

George had been out for awhile but when he got back we headed out to Morrions and this discount food store. I could tell people were looking at me when they heard me talk, haha! We had to walk a bit to and from the stores which just made me feel even more tired. So when we got back home I took another hour nap, waking up just a little bit before Nic was due to come home from work! I definitely felt a lot better after my second nap! I waited near the door when it was like a minute or so before Nic was supposed to get home. And as soon as I saw her pull up I ran outside (I would pay to witness the neighbors reactions to this sight!) We talked for a few and then she went to freshen up. In the mean time I went on Skype and talked to my sister for a little while! I had my chip butty for dinner but still couldn't finish it, they're HUGE and so damn filling, haha! George made this super delicious dessert that I think I could eat three bowls of in one go! After dinner, we had some time to kill before Torchwood was going to be on, so we went on Skype with Justin. I started to drift off while watching Torchwood (Nic's couch is just too damn comfortable!) I made it until about eleven before I just had to go to bed. But all in all, a really nice first day! And I think I did pretty damn good at conquering jet lag! I'm a pro! :D
