Going Back to England: Fourth Trip To England [Day 08]

Aug 03, 2011 13:22

Nic and I both got up pretty early today as we wanted to spend some time just relaxing as it was going to be a bit busy later in the day. We also found out that John Barrowman would be on the Chris Moyle's show so we just had to watch/listen to it! :D After that we both got dressed for the day and decided to go hang out in the living room while I charged my iPad. All of a sudden Nic goes: oh my god and points to her big window and I see the biggest bee of my life flying around! Now if you don't know me all that well, then you wouldn't know how petrified I am of bugs with stingers! I mean, they seriously freak me out and I've actually been stung! I was next to no help and was more or less in a fetal position on her stairs as she killed it with some spray!

After that fiasco we had some breakfast and then decided to head out so Nic could look for some desert cameo pants to go with her River outfit. After looking around in an army surplus store we came back outside realizing just how damn hot it was actually becoming! The other days whenever someone would say it was hot I would just brush it off. But, no, it was actually really hot! And I was in the mood for ice cream, haha! But we hadn't even had lunch yet so we went back to have that and then Nic and I headed out so she could go to the hospital (nothing major, it was for her hearing aids). Since there's no free parking at the hospital we took a tram to get there which was nice as I hadn't been one on the trip so far. The closest tram stop was a few blocks away from the hospital so we had to walk for a few minutes which wasn't entirely enjoyable. Especially since the sun was really beating down on us by this point!

Thankfully she was in and out of the hospital pretty quickly and we soon headed back home to cool off for a bit before deciding to try out the ice cream place called Our Cow Molly. It's homemade ice cream with the cows right there on the farm! And since I can't stop going on about the views they have in England, this one was, unsurpsingly, gorgeous one! It's pretty high up and much to Nic's amusement, my ears kept popping! I may have baby talked a lot when I discovered that there were three calves there! <3 One popped it's head out and started mooing, I swear it wanted me to go over there! So of course I did and started talking to them (can you tell I was missing having my dog around?) Eventually I was dragged away to go inside and actually order the ice cream! I tried to ignore the fact there was some meat for sale in a fridge D: The ice cream sure helped that! I got bake well tart (which is severely lacking in America) and this sort of caramel ice cream! And when I tell you I didn't want it to end, I mean it! We sat outside as well in this cute little play area and it was just so great!

When we got back to the house her dad was home and thankfully the door wasn't locked, haha! I decided to try out the camera charger I had purchased so I could charge my camera in England. But I was apprehensive about using it. Thankfully it worked just fine so I don't have to worry about using anyone else's camera while I'm here or buy a new batter or something! I talked to my sister on skype for a little bit before we headed back out to go pick up Nic's friend, Sarah, from work. She was coming over to help dye my hair red as she has a lot of experience with dying hair! After they dyed my hair (they needed to use two boxes!) Sarah wrapped my hair in saran wrap so it would help keep it all up and I went on Skype again with my sister. After a little while I washed it out and have to admit that I was a little disappointed that it only seemed to be brighter on the top! :( But I told myself I only needed it for two days, so it wasn't a big deal! We had vegetarian spaghetti bolognese (which is basically meat sauce) and then sat outside. I kept telling Sarah and Nic that I could hear thunder but they kept dismissing it because they hardly ever have thunder storms over there. But they finally believed me and I just shook my head at the fact that they ALWAYS seem to have thunder storms when I'm over there!

After awhile we headed back upstairs to hang out in the little office and I showed my mom and sister the finished product of my hair! We also got Sarah hooked on tumblr and goofed around for a bit. On the way back to Sarah's house we decided to go to Morrison's so I could pick up some mini-cheddars. Yeah, it turned into more than getting that as I also got a really yummy scones and clotted cream with starwberry jam! It's the shit, don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Then we drove her back to her house and hung around there for a bit (mostly so I could play with all her cute ratties!) We ended the night by eating our scones and watching this quiz show (the name has completely escaped me.) It was a pretty nice day all in all! :)
